Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely little pit stop for a fantastic cream tea, scones are enormous! Nice things on the menu and the homemade cakes looked historic.

Probably one of the best places I have been to for an espresso in the UK. Big call but this place is particular with coffee and tea. My wife assessed her pot of tea and cream tea scones as the best she had, too. The...scones and cream and jam were exceptional. I can’t recall having better anywhere. Big thumbs up to this little Mevagissey tea roomMore

We found Teacup Tearoom several yrs ago and remembered the wonderful welcome they gave to us and our dog. So while having a week in Mevagissey we re acquainted ourselves with your beautiful Tearoom. 4 visits and 4 lovely, friendly welcomes later ( not to...mention great coffees and yummy cakes) we have to let everyone know that you have to enjoy this experience. Thankyou Julie and RichardMore

Passed the door by chance and realised it was very dog friendly so popped for a cuppa and cake! Our dog was greeted with the offer of yummy treats, in his case a cheesy custard cream dog biscuit! We sat in the window with our...dog who sat on a cushion with a blanket provided! Cakes were delicious, we had coffee and a hot chocolate, both piping hot, different roasts of coffee offered. Real Cadbury flakes in the hot chocolate! We weren't rushed and enjoyed our pit stop escaping from the rain for half an hour. We will return if we are in the area.More

What a special place to have lunch, so welcoming for us and the dog. Plenty of choice for both drinks and eats. Scones are wonderful. Treats for the dog on arrival, water and a blanket provided, he was very happy. Will definitely return.

We travel for nearly 5hrs to stay in Cornwall; our first stop is ALWAYS Teacup Tea Room. The cream tea is legendary. Always welcomed with a smile and "hello" and if not able to be seated right away, given a waiting time which is never...more than 5 mins. Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Now let's get on to the food... Wow! Amazing delicious cakes and scones (fruit/plain/cheese). Also a dedicated counter for gluten free cakes AND scones (which are vegan too)! Savoury deliciousness also available including lush bagels and sandwiches. A vast tea menu, including local Cornish Tregothan teas. We are ALWAYS so comfortable here. Asked about any allergies we have and any questions we have are answered. Lots of information about the business is found within the menu clipboards as well we a clear paragraph about bringing in and consuming items not bought on site - simply to keep their customers safe. Cannot rate this beautiful little spot highly enough. Elizabeth, David and Liv are super friendly, warm, welcoming and boy can they bake! Visited again today, and even got take away cakes for tomorrow!More

Pressurised atmosphere does not lend to enjoyable, relaxed eating and drinking..got the order wrong, but instead of making it again, they added sprinkles.. surly without smiles or a friendly manner. Felt unwelcome, micro managed. Given this place a few goes to see if it gets...any better, sadly, it does not. And what's with the black gloves? More often seen in tattoo parlours or the ickier side of beauty treatments, (because they don't show ink or blood) So off-putting in an eating establishment. Won't be going again.More

Amazing little find. I came with my son, my mum and my jack Russell and we had such an amazing experience. The team were so friendly, especially the older man with the beard (didn’t catch his name) he was so lovely to my little dog...who is abit nervous around men. We visted Valentine’s Day and even got free love heart cookies 🍪 food was great, I had bacon, Brie on white bread and wow! It so so fresh and tasty. thank you so much! Will be returning when next in Mevagissey.More
