Visited a few times this restaurant. The dishes are very good - classic local cuisine in a modern form. Great Tokaj wines and local spirits - Slivovica. There is even foie gras and tartare! Great place for lunch or dinner.

Beautiful rooms for our one night stay in old restored house on route from Krakow to Budapest. We dinner and had the company of their beautiful cats too!
Tell your taxi driver to take you to the Fortuna Restaurant. The reception is located on the other side of the square (restaurant side) from the rooms, so there might be some confusion about where to go because you see two Fortuna buildings. My room...was spacious and clean but I could imagine people with limited mobility having trouble climbing the irregular winding stairs that lead to the rooms. Bed was comfortable. breakfast offer was simple but complete. eggs, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, fruit, coffee, yogurt, bacon, sausages, and 1 type of pastry. Coffee was okay- be sure to specify a small espresso if you want a true espresso.More
This was the perfect ending of a demanding hiking trip in high tatras With 4 friends we went for the menu and it was the perfect choice! Great cuisine , excellent service and great wines We can recommend this restaurant to all people visiting poprad...We will come back LucMore
Unfortunately, quite disappointing, had high expectations... The single-room is quite small and not so comfortable. The shower is the smallest I have ever seen in any hotel around the world ! The bed was comfortable, but over-all, the room price was overcharged, compare with other...nicer rooms around the same town. There was no soap in the shower, glad I usually have with me some, from home. The restaurant was even a bigger disappointment ! Ordered a tuna and avocado Carpaccio : It had no avocado in there at all !! no balance at all. Ordered a salad : again, no balance at all, quite tasteless, huge amount of greens, almost no dressing. Ordered baby-leaf with Atlantic salt : what came was Atlantic salt with baby-leaf... The main dish was fine, 8 out of 10More
My family & I enjoyed our meal here. We did have a communication issue, as the ladies spoke no English and our Slovak is also limited. We did in the end enjoy a delicious meal.
We got a private room, there were 11 of us, youngsters and adults. FooD excellent served with a nice pace, deserts delicious.
Easy accomodating and nice service. The waiter was attentive the food came in a nice time. We had a relaxing and easy meal.
Looking for a nice place to dine in Poprad, we decided to count on the average rating and the rather large number of reviewers of Pension Fortuna. this turned out a good decision. Lots of parking places, nicely designed restaurant, pleasant ambience, courteous service, very...good food. Warmly recommended.More
Reading the recommendations we (my wife and me) went to the restaurant with high expectations which proved false. The service is extremely slow even though the place was almost empty. I ordered a grilled cod fish (12.90 Euros) and received a very little piece of...fillet on steamed (not tasty) spinach . The menu claimed the dish to include dried tomatoes, certainly one (1) can't fulfill this promise and the accompanying too many pieces of salted cheese (white brine sirene) didn't help. My wife's pasta (papardelle - 8.50 Euros) was prepared very simple with too much cream. To sum up, a real disapointment.More
Come with a big appetite so you can enjoy this restaurant's a multi-course sampler menu. If not, you can order from the a la carte menu. They also have an extensive wine collection and fabulous desserts cooked by the co-owner.
Fast and tasty KOLIBA situated in the center of smokovec Efficient and fast service Very good local plates big enough portions Very good atmosphere The only cont is that you have to pay 1.8 Euros for parking
I came here at around 17:30 on a Monday night. I was a lone diner and the place was empty, although there aren't many tourists in this area, this time of year. The waiter was very attentive and spoke English well. The menu had lots...of good options and although high in price for Slovakia I thought appropriately priced compared to the UK. I only ordered a glass of wine and a main (the pork cheek) but the waiter brought me a 'present' from the kitchen (bruschetta type thing with ham and cheese) I half expected this to be added to my bill but it wasn't. A very nice thought from them. Aside from the food, the place was very cosy and nicely decorated with fresh tulips on the table! I was only there for 45 minutes but I couldn't fault it at all. I would definitely recommend to anyone that visits this area.More
On the way to our holidays we stopped just by a chance and asked for a table. From the first moment we felt very welcomed (even with two small kids). Enviroment is beautiful, cosy, clean. Food was amazing. Tasty, fresh, nicely decorated. Service excellent. With...the surrounding of Spisska Sobota square our experience is unforgettable :) If you have chance to visit Spisska Sobota, do not hesitate!More
This is probably as close as I have ever got in Slovakai to eating top notch European Resturant quality. The menu is small as is the restaurant but the food is very fresh , prepared to order and bags of flavour. The chef has no...doubt been trained somewhere in Europe. The drinks list is fantastic and a decent wine selection. At around €120 for 5 people , expensive for locals but good value for us English . Am going back again soon.More
