I was a bit sceptical about this place, because in my opinion there are not many upscale places in Bratislava, which can also justify the price they ask. Additionally, the menu never interested me much. I am all for fusion, but not this style fusion....Service: when I came in, I was a bit taken back, because of the attitude of the waitress, but I have to say the approach improved a lot and I felt very welcomed. I am mentioning this, because it is not very often that I experienced such nice service in Bratislava. Additionally, it was very helpful that the waitresses were able to advise on food and make recommendations. However, I would point out that like in many restaurants one is not given enough time to choose. Food: As I mentioned, this place was not high on my list, therefore dishes I tried were fish based. I have to say that fish is very fresh and some pieces were really delicious (eel, salmon), with other just ok (tuna). The rolls I tried were a bit too salty to my taste, but otherwise very good. I appreciated that it was possible to combine them. Drink: Selection of sake is very limited and also there are only so many options where one can have a small bottle. I mentioning it, because for me sake is about enjoying the taste and not trying to drink the whole bottle. Another minus is that sake is served in flutes… this is a big no no for me. Ambience: It does not really feel like an upscale restaurant it tries to be. We were sat at the terrace and there is a lot to be desired from the whole decor to menus. I was a bit shocked that the have paper menus, with the food one serving as a table mat. Additionally, the drink one was taken after ordering a drink and never returned. To sum up it may be worth trying if you like fusion and don’t mind having higher prices, which may not be justified for all dishes. For example, I spent a similar amount at Nobu and good a full course meal including a great sake. For me there is a chance to return to try more fish dishes, but then again I can just try somewhere else.More

Amazing food, great service. Pork belly was amazing, completely new flavours. Dessert, the best I have ever eaten, so innovative and interesting. Great ambience and atmosphere.

Visited IASAI with my gourmet friend who loves extraordinary cuisine and exploring new places just like me and we haven‘t been disappointed. Everything, starting with the ambience, service and food was amazing. Sitting at the inside sushi bar is an experience in itself, complemented by...a nice chat with the sushi chefs. Everyone is more than happy to explain the dishes and any unknown ingredients, as well as the drink menu. The food is godly! Sushi is extremely tasty thanks to the fresh fish the restaurant offers, the soups are huge and have a comforting taste, desserts are playful and yummy. Cannot recommend anything more! One of the best places to eat in Bratislava, well worth a visit and more.More

Looked great from the street but ultimately very disappointing. Happy to pay for great sushi, that said, the salmon nigiri at €7.50 per piece was way overpriced and very average at best. Would not return.

The food is marvelous, unfortunately the dishes are put on the table without any prop explanation and overall the service is very bad, so we left.

Best Tartar Hamachi I’ve ever had. Delicious appetizer! Only wish is for it to be bigger. The Pork Belly was amazing, too!

We sat at the sushi table and we enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was super nice, we always had something to watch and the sushi was great. Price was reasonable.

Bratislava culinary scene is not honestly among the most exciting. While you can easily find standard good food, when we talk upscale or fancy there is not much choice and with the permanent closing of Foo Zoo and Zazasu, the options have been further reduced....Between pandemic and forced closures of restaurants I still didn't have the chance to try Iasai and I faced the experience with hope and some concerns also due to read reviews here on Tripadvisor. The place: the restaurant presents itself as a modern contemporary venue, with a certain attention to design and vibe, but too many details feel cheap (among others the use of paper placemat with printed menu that are really ugly and cheap paper napkins). We had dinner in the veranda and while it tuned down along the dinner, at the beginning the noise was a bit overwhelming forcing myself and my friend to raise our voice pitch to hear each other. Overall the ambience (veranda) does not reflect the price range of the place nor convey the sense of upscale experience. The service: while the service didn't start very well, it improved along the evening and reached normal standards. Our order was taken by a waiter obviously in a rush without making us feel welcome, but more like we were a burden. Along the dinner the attitude re-adjusted and we felt more at ease. The food: in general the food is pricey for Bratislava scene. Appetizers, while good, are way overpriced. Main dishes were remarkable and fairly priced for what we got. Dessert was good but missed a wow factor (price though was fair). Funny note, the portion of plain Jasmin rice was lower than in a Chinese takeaway (a mystery to me). Soft drinks are the most expensive I ever experienced in the city. More attention should be put on plating. The Bao burger Nippon was sadly seating in the plate while the Korean beef was a bit messy. Overall I would recommend Iasai for people that don't mind spending 40 to 60 euro for a good dinner, experiencing something new and good but without being rewarded by any particular wow factor, nor in service nor in environment. Considering Bratislava restaurant scene, the place is a nice addition that should catch the opportunity to improve in order to stand out (especially at that range of price). Personally I may return to try some other dishes I'm curious about and to have a sushi night. But being aware that I will focus on the culinary experience without expecting much more.More

Food was relatively good, but nothing exceptional. For that expensive restaurant the servis was really poor. Staff was unpleasant, non friendly. We had reservation for 6 people. The staff and service shade our experience of good food. The atmosphere in restaurant is often more important. Never...again !!!More

Overall: The food was amazing, the service and atmosphere horrible. Probably won't visit again. Possible to pay with card. Food: very tasty, almost worth the price tag. Had soups, tasting gyoza and desert. We were satisfied with everything. Too bad the price tag also covers...overall experience, which was negative. Service and atmosphere: I understand corona situation is quite difficult. But the place was very noisy, the music was loud, making the guests talk even louder. I honestly doubt that space fulfills hygienic COVID requirements. The waitresses? There were 2 for cca. 6 tables. Every opportunity to order costed us 15 minutes of intense staring at the waitresses. I suppose we should have shouted at them? I don't know if the owner resorted to some uneducated part-time teenagers for waiters just to cut costs? But I can't imagine how a place like that can afford such solution.More

We had a family dinner on a terrace. The food was tasty, interesting and of high quality. It is relaxed, not a posh restaurant. What they could improve in my opinion is the looks of how food is served.
