The restaurant was nice, good atmosphere, the food was local and really well cooked. The staff was nice and friendly, prices really honest. The only down was the lava cake.

This was a nice place, with good atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The best meal we had in Bratislava.
Amazing food, very delicious. Large portions.. food is traditional. Service is great. Highly recommended.
We arrived there at 20.30, but lady explained straight away that the kitchen is already closed. This is really odd as open time states 22.00… disappointing to us… check for kitchen time before going there…
We were traveling to Budapest and stopped here for lunch. It was a very busy day and we were told the wait will be 30 minutes. However, we were seated in less time and the servers spoke good English. The food was good and we...were served promptly. Parking is scarce, but we were lucky to get one.More
Food was okay, but service is terrible. The waitress was rude and constantly pushing the order to be done faster. However, they could not even answer questions about some dishes on the menu.
It's a small and cozy place. Perfect to grab a local dish. I recommend trying the KOFOLA. It's a type of Cola. I recommend asking the staff for local dishes.
Among different places, this is the best: good food and not expensive as other ones with same quality. I have been here for dinner several times during my stay in Bratislava
I am celiac and arriving at this place and meeting Richard has been a blessing. He has treated us phenomenally, very friendly and professional.
always check your order. restaurant used to send less than ordered. this is experience 3 times in row!! unbelievable behaviour
We chose this restaurant randomly and couldn't be happier with our choice. They offer chef's choice daily menus and both draft beer and Kofola coke, plus of course everyday menus. Everything is priced reasonably, made fresh and the whole atmosphere is very friendly and nice....Highly recommend if you're struggling to find a place with more traditional-ish Slovak food in the center of Bratislava. Thank you for a great lunch!More
I went to the restaurant after reading the TA reviews and I have to say that some of the negative comments are not true, at least were not in my case. Some complained about the service - but we found this to be excellent, in...terms of waiting time, recommendation of traditional food and drinks from the waitress, English speaking and so on. Also, no card payment was mentioned - not true anymore, you can use a credit card now. Low prices were frequently mentioned in the reviews - yes, one can have most of the dishes at very reasonable prices. Drinks, too. So, I think this is a great place to enjoy some traditional Slovakian food, together with Slovakian slivovitz and/or Czech Budvar beer.More
Before to be in Bratislava, I checked in Tripadvisor where to find a typical, cheap and good restaurant in the slovakian capital. Divny Janko was the first option and I decided to go there for a dinner. The service has been veerrryy ssllooww. In the...restaurant there were maximum 6 people - 3 busy tables - and I waited 15/25 minutes for a waitress and other 25/35 minutes for the meal. Unbelievable. Despite of the poor service, the food was okay, the portions were huge and if you are hungry, you will not need to ask a second meal or to add an extra side. I took chips, cheese and a main dish and allof them were tasty. The prices were very cheap. For two people I paid 18 euros. With two meals and a soft drink each. The location of Divny Janko is not very close to the centre but it is quite easy to reach by foot.More
The service is very poor, they didnt say you cant pay with card! Me and my girlfriend both got diarrhea from the food we ate. Dont eat here!
Traditional home made food was delicious and great value for money, 4 of us had two courses and bill was 48 euro including the drinks. The only downside was we felt a little rushed with mains arriving before we finished starters.
