Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a small simple village on a lovely hill with fantastic views of Etna and the surrounding valley. The hotel, the best in the center of the village is simple but has all the amenities and very friendly owners/staff. The restaurant is also very good, the breakfast could be better.

Very friendly and accommodating staff in a fine little hotel, with a little restaurant with nice wines and a great grilled veal. Driving the narrow paths that lead to this peak location is no easy task but this is a lovely place to experience the upper part of this mysterious village.

This place is a hidden gem...I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our 7 day break here. The staff are wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful. Spotlessly clean very reasonable and the hotel food is fabulous. I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank the owner Franco and all his lovely delightful family for the best holiday we have ever had. From Mark and Pam Owen.

Without a doubt the best hotel experience we had in a long time. This place is amazing and the family that runs the hotel is fantastic! They made us feel special and not just room fillers like you do in so many places. Not only the rooms are spacious and clean but the balcony views are to die for. Couldn't wait to wake up and open the shutters every morning. On top of that when my wife didn't feel well on our last day (flu symptoms) and our flight was in the evening the owners let us stay in the room till late afternoon free of charge! There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this place is! FULLY RECOMMEND!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Make sure you ask for directions and follow them instead of your sat nav! The owner was lovely though and parked our car for us when we came the wrong way. We would definitely stay again. We also ate in the restaurant which was very good.

Had a three night stay in this wonderful family run hotel. It was our first visit to sicily and it didn’t disappoint. The hotel was small and intimate well appointed in the very enchanting little town, the room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. We had a balcony which was lovely. The family were friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us they even arranged for a driver to collect us from and to the local train station.we ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was amazing and very reasonable price wise. We had an amazing time and I would love to go back i highly it recommended for a short break .

This hilltop town is definitely not on the tourist map. It is about as authentic Sicilian as you would wish. The hotel is in the middle of the old town! Driving there is no easy feat, but the hassle was worth the trouble. This family run hotel is great! They helped park the car, helped with our luggage, and in true Sicilian style, couldn't do enough to make us welcome. The room was spacious, the view over the town and the valley was great,. Great help in giving us tips on how to visit Mt. Etna. Room was cool and quiet at night, We were very happy here,

We had a great stay at Hotel Federico. The food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. Room very clean and well equipped. The owner even parked our car for us when we arrived down the wrong (and very narrow street). Completely my fault for not reading the directions properly. Great stay. Would stay again.

This is a family run hotel, that takes great pride in their business. They are very accommodating and are very friendly. This location is close enough to all the major attractions in the area, yet transports you back to time long past. A must stay if you are in the area.

We've stayed in this hotel for a night. It is located into the old city of Castigliano di Sicilia. We enjoyed the beautiful view from our room which had the air condition, an essential object during August in Sicily. The room is very large and the bathroom is clean and comfortable. The staff is very kind and always ready to help you. The only disadvantage was the breakfast, poor and the food was in some cases rotten. Prices are fair.
