We spent a lovely couple of nights here in a spacious, airy and air conditioned room with a sun-filled terrace. Friendly, family run in a quiet town. But close to the Alcantara Gorge and easy drive to Taormina. We ate here both evenings and the food was good - simple but tasty. Would definitely recommend it as a place to stay when visiting Taormina.

Had a lovely 8 nights away at the hotel d’orange. We were on the half board package and the Breakfast was tasty with lots of different things like egg, cheese, toast, salami, yogurt, croissant etc. The Dinner was beautiful and probably the best food we have had at an Italian. The staff were great and especially chiara who spoke the best English which some of the staff can improve on just a little but the owners were really helpful and gave us a very warm welcome. The pool at the top of the terrace is beautiful and some of the best scenery I’ve seen in a while with ave Maria playing at noon throughout the town. Well worth walking into the village and visiting the cappuccini monastery, castle ruins, some really reasonably priced bars and restaurants. You must visit the little bar on the second corner from the hotel as they have gorgeous pizza slices for 1 Euro. The Godfather tour is an hours bus tour in Taormina from right outside the hotel. This beautiful village is well worth a visit and very cheap to drink and eat out with 2 good supermarkets near the Hotel.

I stayed in this Hotel for a long vacation in Sicily, the Hotel is run by a Sicilian family which definitely gives it a very special and warm touch to the experience of staying here. Equipped and clean room, AC, safety box and a nice balcony. I pay for a smart box with breakfast and dinner included and the food was delicious, all the staff was very helpfull and polite! Totally recommended for nice vacation.

We booked this area as we wanted to be in a less tourist place. This hotel is fantastic value for money. Rooms are cleaned daily. Ideal for exactly what we wanted. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was beautiful and plenty of wines to offer. I loved the fact it was family run as I find that more personal. A great place if you like to sight see. The mountains are beautiful to walk up. There is also a bus stop out side the hotel to take you to numerous places if walking is not your thing. I had emailed previous to arriving and found the hotel very helpful on how and what transport was available from the airport. I must say if you like a more English resort then this is not the place for you. But like us if you wanted traditional and to be around the locals then this place is s must .

I am a tour leader and have stayed here this season with my groups. We have all loved this hotel. It’s a typical family run hotel, with everyone involved. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is excellent. Breakfast has a wonderful fresh fruit salad every morning with croissants, yoghurts, fresh bread, ham, cheese and scrambled eggs etc. There is a lovely pool on the roof with a deck area to sunbathe, or just have a drink and chill out. Its only 10 mins away from Alcantara gorge, also close is Castiglione (famous as one of the beautiful villages of Sicily), and also a good location to visit Etna. Francavilla is not touristy but is a real Sicilian town. If you take the time to wander, you’ll find really old areas, old laundries where 400 years ago the ladies would wash their clothes communally. The old streets and houses are a sign of faded grandeur. The convent is also worth visiting. This is a great place to stay, they even do massage at reasonable prices. The pizzas at weekends are yummy. But most of all the family work so hard to make it right. If it’s five star you are looking for then don’t book, but if you want a real family hotel, in a real Sicilian town, with real food and character then this is it. I love it and do have every one of my groups.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and good quality with many options (bread, cheese, meats, scrambled egg, various fruits, cereal, yogurt, juices and coffee ect) and the restaurant is excellent for lunch and evening meal with great service, delicious pastas and pizzas and good value for money. The room was clean, spacious and quaint (charming). The WiFi is excellent and can be accessed in most areas. The hotel has a lovely rooftop pool surrounded by wonderful views. The hotel is situated in a quiet, peaceful area with quiet rooms. The bus stop is located outside for Giardini Naxos (beach), Taormina and Gole Alcantara (we walked but transport is probably best) which are beautiful places to visit. The neighbourhood is very pretty and safe with a supermarket within a 5-minute walk. Would love to stay here again in the future and would definitely recommend.

Very disappointing hotel considering the price of £66 a night. Paper thin walls so you can hear your neighbours. A rickety external shutter which got stuck half way so you couldn't block the light out in the morning. The shower overflowed and the the decor was very dated. Breakfast was basic. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. There was no pizzeria but they failed to tell us that until we had already sat down. We ordered the lasagne for €10 which was microwaved and the wine tasted on vinegar. It's very hard to eat badly in Sicily but this hotel restaurant was the worst food experience we had. Best thing about the hotel were the staff who were extremely helpful and helped us to arrange an excursion to Etna.

The service is very nice. The family running this hotel is very friendly and helpful. You do need a car to go other places tho because there is. It much to do in Francavila. Public transportation stops right in front of the hotel which is great if you don't have a car. The pizza is really good, the other food we tried wasn't that great. The rooms are very spacious, parking lot, cable, free great wifi, breakfast included, friendly staff, super helpful staff amazing pool rooftop! Thanks guys for a very nice stayed!! I recommend this hotel and I'd be back :)

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and felt it was very good value for money. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We found all the staff lovely and they all made an effort. Breakfast included a good range of items which staff were happy to replenish when asked. We felt sorry for the staff at breakfast as there was a tour group staying at the hotel who were extremely rude. The staff were very professional (not sure I would have tolerated being spoken to like that by guests staying at the hotel). We loved the fact the swimming pool was on the roof top, as the surrounding mountains are an impressive backdrop. The only thing I would change is to heat the swimming pool as we found the pool too cold to swim in.

We decided to take advantage of a last minute offer to Sicily. I reviewed the hotel and decided to book the holiday. We rented a car at the airport and the Sat nav took us to this great little hotel. Clean, friendly staff and excellent food this is a little gem of a place and is ideally situated for exploring Etna, Catania and all the beautiful places Sicily has to offer. The room had excellent air conditioning and we slept well without suffering from the heat at night. Parking right next to the hotel with an entrance into the hotel. Breakfast is continental and a buffet style, all good. In the evening the restaurant serves up excellent Pizza and Pasta dishes plus many more splendid dishes. All in all I am more than happy with the hotel and would recommend to anybody, especially those who prefer a peaceful place to stay away from crowds etc. In any case it's only a short drive down to some of the fantastic beaches on the coast.
