The Olmi Grossi farm is located in Impruneta, only 10km (6 miles) far from the Florence city centre and 6 Km (3.5 Miles) from the A1 motorway junction "Firenze-Certosa". Where else you can enjoy the peacefulness of the quite suggestive Chianti countryside and at the same time pay a visit to the magnificent historical towns of Tuscany. The Olmi grossi Farm is also situated very close to the bus service: you can make daily excursions to downtown Florence, thus avoiding parking worries. Impruneta, you can also easily reach many characteristic locations within the Chianti as well as famous historic, art-filled cities, such as Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Arezzo and also Pisa (by train, it's just 50 min journey from Florence central station). For those who love Golf, the farm is located near the golf club "Ugolino": the first golfing association in Italy, founded in 1889. Ugolino golf club hosts national and international championship. How to get: BY CAR: Exit A1 Firenze-Certosa. Follow the signs to Impruneta. After 4 km uphill overtaking the town of Bagnolo, another 800 meters and we have arrived. BY BUS: Piazza Stazione in Florence, take the bus in Via Fiume CAP Bagnolo way that does stop here before.

We stayed here for 2 nights after spending 3 nights in Florence. We had a very nice, clean unit with a kitchenette, livingroom, bedroom and toilet. The place is exactly as pictured on the sites. The owners were very nice people too. They let us use their personal internet one night to contact our kids. We tried walking into Imprunetta which was quite an adventure. It takes about 30 min. down a busy windy road with no sidewalks, so on the way back after buying a few groceries we took a taxi back, it's only a 5 min ride back. We made our own lunch and dinner in our unit. The breakfast is very simple with packaged foods that are left in your unit. You can make your own coffee/tea. All appliances are in your unit to use. We spend a whole day by the pool, it was so nice. I guess everyone else was sightseeing when we were that as we had it all to ourselves which was wonderful. Very few mosquitos/bee, lots of birds singing. There was a young couple who tried to walk into town for dinner one night, came back after trying and the host offered to give them a ride to and from the town. That was very nice of them
I would recommend this farmhouse to anyone who wants to relax for a few days (if you don't have a car). If you have a car it's easy to drive to Siena, Florence etc. The bus stop is right out front, take the CAP bus there from Florence not the SITA bus. We made that mistake on the way there and had to switch buses part way there. The CAP bus drops you off right in front of the farmhouse. Just let the bus driver know where you're headed.

This was my first stay in an Agriturismo and it was great. Monica was a big help to us and, although her English is just a bit better than my Italian, she is clever in understanding needs! The room was clean and spacious. She brought fresh eggs from her chickens every morning and had a basket of goodies in the room for the taking. The location was convenient for exploring Florence and other towns. There were restaurants nearby although parking was a bit of a challenge.

Owner is super nice and sweet. Brekkie wasn't communal and noise from corridor + next room can be heard very clearly to the room. Otherwise 5/5. Stunning views. Easy to find and park. Very nice garden. Short drive to the village.

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time as my stay at Olmi Grossi during a Tuscan wedding left quite a lasting impression. I never got quite around to it until now. I have to admit that the first couple of days went relatively well. This Agriturismo was relatively well situated had a homely feel, a nice little pool and nice enough owners who mostly kept to themselves unless called upon. That was until the day of our check out. The morning after the wedding, having woken up at around 10am and having mistakenly assumed a noon time check out, I started hearing a loud banging on my door accompanied by repeated screams of "GET OUT, GET OUT!!!!!" Somewhat alarmed and startled that something had gone wrong or there was some terrible emergency, I ran to open the door, only to find one the owners, an Italian lady screaming at me because check out was at 10 and I had not yet left the room. Confused I explained that I thought that check out was at 12 but that I was packing any way. She proceeded to lecture me in a shouting voice that "I had to get out and that everywhere in the world, hotel check outs are at 10!" Never mind that I am an extensive traveler and know that rules vary by hotel and are often flexible if an extra hour or two is needed. I would have happily admitted my mistake but was incensed by the treatment I got so I told her there was no need to be rude or shout. She replied that "I was the rude one" (probably for daring to talk back) and that I had to get out now! More grumbling ensued in Italian as she stomped away (I have no doubt they were all kind words). Needless, to say I packed as quickly as I could, as I could not wait to get out of there. Shame, as the irrational and rude behavior of the owner left a very bitter taste in my mouth for what had otherwise been a lovely weekend. I am sure most of you will have a pleasant enough stay at Olmi Grossi but just make sure to tread carefully around the owner depending on her mood. I have never seen such behavior in the hospitality industry, so unprovoked.

We rented the apartment for one night, what a shame we could not stay longer. Easy to find. Friendly owners, gave us fresh eggs and butter, and allowed us to use their kitchen to bake a cake. Amazing views, great pool, we had a dog that could run around and play. Clean, charming, and pleasant. We did not have any noise issues from the road at all. The wine they make is tasty and nicely priced! Took a few bottles home with us.

I stayed here last year with a friend and my nephew. We had a week in one of the split level rooms and loved its tuscan charm. I have just checked in again for a few days, tells you I liked it so much I am back again. This time I am in one of the rooms on the ground floor looking off towards the pool and it is amazing. As soon as I walked in I started to smile. Decorated with charm, it is clean and exactly what you would expect from a working farm holiday rental. I was met by the owner who is so friendly and welcoming, she can never do too much for you and the best part she lets me bring my dogs! I jumped in the pool and enjoyed the afternoon in the sun. I am now sitting on the terrace having a glass of wine and soaking in the evening air. This is a must stay if you are looking for some thing simple, rusting and friendly oh and close to Florence.

We were here in July. We loved it! I'm baffled by some of the negative reviews here. I'm sure it would be frustrating to not have water but that is a problem we never had. All the amenities were lovely and worked properly. Our room was also facing the road and we were never bothered by the traffic. This is a country road running from Impruneta to Grieve and there is not much traffic.

The pool was nice. The views were amazing. The hostess is a little quirky and there is no office or anything really, just their house. But she was very nice and took an interested in our plans and checked to make sure everything was good. And the Olmi Grossi wine was excellent. You could just swipe a bottle from the table and leave a note to pay for it later. This of course can be dangerous the more bottles one consumes.

We would love to come back and stay again. In fact, we plan to. Don't hesitate to stay here.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the spacious accomodations. In April, it is a little early in the tourist season, but the owner was friendly and treated us very special. It was very quiet and only about 15 minutes from Florence. I would recommend staying here!

We were travelling across Italy for 2 weeks and stayed in Olmi Grossi for 3 nights in August. This was absolutely the worst experience during this time. The expectations were good based on the personal recommendations of the other person in the list ("Burson"), but our stay there turned into a nightmare and we had to leave earlier than planned. Now some details:

1. The place is right on the road, our room was facing the road too, so it's really a lot of noise from the cars.
2. There were no proper windows in the room - only some small ones closer to the ceiling, so it was really gloomy even in August
3. There was NO WATER (any water - hot or cold) 70% of time of the stay.... Something really disappointing in +35 C degrees in August... The explanation was that "there are many guests, so we don't have enough supply of water for everyone".... AND even no "Sorry" and no any discount for it.....
4. Some kitchen appliances (kettle, coffee-maker) were not working
5. Hosts were very unfriendly and made zero help to our stay

...Resume: Be very picky about the room you're granted. Avoid high season. Better avoid this place at all.

This is a great place to stay in Tuscany for a reasonable price. It is a beautiful apartment behind the family's house. They were so helpful whenever we needed anything and even offered to drive us into town if needed. The view is great, the breakfast was plentiful, and other cooking basics were available such as salt and tea and coffee, etc. We were close enough to impruneta to walk in and go to the grocery, etc. Only a 20 min walk. Did not have any traffic noise at all, did not understand those complaints. The bus to Florence stops right outside too. Only about 6-8 times per day though does the bus run, which is definitely reasonable but you have to schedule it if relying on it, as we were. This was the perfect place for us. No complaints at all. Wondeful!
