The hotel is situated in an amazing location since the centre is only a brisk 5 minute walk. There is even a supermarket not far from the hotel. The food in the restaurant was great and the staff was very kind and helpful whenever we didn’t know what historic sites to explore. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom even had a hairdryer. I will definitely visit again.

Considering price, almost 80 euro per night, we were horrified. A huge problem with parking. The room we got for that price had only 1 spare electric socket, dirty carpet, dirty shower, no heating in bathroom, dirty bed sheets with holes in them and too short sheets. We had to ask for extra sheets to cover revealed mattress. Bed without top mattress!!! Miserable pillows. Poor structure of the room (we could not watch tv because of the huge wooden pillar in the middle of the room blocking the view), broken floor under carpet. Moreover, the room was very cold and we had to ask for an extra heater. No fridge and no closeth for hanging longer coats or dresses.

The pension is very centrally located. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was very noisy even in the late night 2 am. The room was clean but quite simple. No curtain and it will become very bright at 6 am in the morning-hardly to continue to sleep. Breakfast was good with great service.

A great place to stay if exploring this part of Slovakia. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and spacious. We used the hotel restaurant for meals on the first 2 nights (you have breakfast in the restaurant too). It had a good choice of dishes (including vegetarian options), all nicely prepared. The restaurant staff were very helpful in explaining the menu. The Pension has it's own car park, although a little small so in peak season you may have to park elsewhere - on street parking is via SMS Payments. There are quite a few local attractions and museums within easy walking distance, although in February a few were closed and piles of snow on the roadside made for careful walking. Thoroughly recommend the Pension and the very historic town.

I didn't stay in the pension, but ate in their resturant. I loved it! enjoyed the food and the hospitality. When you are in banska Stiavnice don't miss a dinner in Lachman resturant, even you sleep in another place.

Breath taking nature, culture, skiing....that is why you drive 3 hours from Bratislava. Got the address when I was stationed in Bratislava for work. Great place with good, clean rooms although bathrooms are (very) small. Food all throughout the day served by friendly waiters/waitresses whether lunch or dinner. Prices are very reasonable compared to Bratislava and Austria. Flexible and friendly reception, relocating us on our request and helping find on some of our requests. From there visit town, go skiing and visit the Kalvaria or Stary/Novy Zamok (old/new castle). Last but least, after a good dinner, I suggest you taste their plum slivo!

We had mezonet room (with bedroom up). Loved it. The room was spacious, minimalist furnishing, had little green terace with garden seats and table (good for summer sitting). Staff was nice and polite. Breakfast is not included in the price, it is +5 euro, buffet table.

I was travelling by bicycle. I was allowed to store the bike overnight in the hallway of the annex. It is a rambling building with some very low sloping ceilings - obvious so you don't hit your head. I was in room 11. The room was at the end of a long private corridor. There was a double bed and scarcely enough room to be able to walk around the bed. As a single traveller it was Ok but a couple would always be on a collision course. Breakfast was mediocre. The town is small steep and quite interesting.

We went here for a set menu lunch and then returned for dinner for about 15 people. The meals were great and the way they catered for us all was extremely well done. The service was excellent and everyone was suitably impressed.
