Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything is just steps away. A short walk to see the sea lions, pier 39, and so much more. The room was clean and comfortable, my grandsons bed was very noisy when he moved around he said it was comfortable. There's a 7-Eleven across the street for AM coffee and quick snacks. Our room was in the back. No view , It was quiet . The front desk was very friendly and was able to answer questions about transportation. Shop around for the best price. It varies from site to site.

The reviews were a little mixed but I went ahead and booked here because I was looking for something affordable and with free parking for our rental car. Maybe I went into it with very low expectations but we were pleased with our stay. The location is amazing. Beds are comfy. We were on the backside 3rd floor and even had a view of the city. It’s not luxurious but it’s affordable and worth it for the closeness to fisherman’s wharf.

Looks very deceiving. Looks kinda scary on the outside but the inside was nice. Parking is included in price which was reasonable for SF. However, the location cant be beat. A block to Fishermans Wharf. And then only a short walk to Pier 39 where the shops and restaurants are. Would definitely stay jere again

Check in was fast friendly. Room 317, faced the 7-11. Room was clean, old. Bed was worn out sloped on the sides no back support. No AC at this hotel, you can open a door to a balcony and smell garbage. Its not safe at dark to be outside, you will notice locals yelling at each other on the street, cars and bikes racing up and down, doing burn outs, garbage everywhere outside. No police presence, guess they are scared to police the wharf area. The hotel has secure parking, you will need it. No breakfast. Its a cheaper option, basic stay decent tv, fridge. Its ok and will get you by, your right on the wharf literally. I would do a daytrip in the sunlight hours, do the bridge walk around do alcatraz then leave. If not this hotel is ok in a pinch.

Great location. Free parking big plus. Older motel and there is no air conditioning so the room was a little warm, but there was a fan in closet and ceiling fan over bed. Paid $278/2 nights. It took care of our needs, but is not the average remodeled or updated motels we are used to. We did feel safe. We did arrive early before check in and charged $15 but would have paid more if we were in the city finding parking lots. So we didn’t mind. We boarded Big Bus tour right across the street and on last day we did an Alcatraz tour and they allowed us to keep car in their parking garage until 3 no extra charge. Very nice accommodating staff.

The room was clean but not what I expected from the online photos. I had a balcony but except for standing on it to look at the 711 (playing loud music to discourage people from loitering - all day and night) it doesn’t allow for one to sit and relax. It’s an older hotel and it’s very close to the bay. Parking is tight and almost awkward but the lot is secure which is good

Location was fantastic. 10-15 minute walking distance from The Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz cruise, Peer 33 and 39, Lombard Street and many eating establishments. A big plus was the free, enclosed parking. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. The only reason we gave a 4/5 was the noise from the room next door through the connecting door. There is a 7Eleven right across the street and an IHOP less than a block away. Would recommend.

Free parking, location and the fact that rates are a little cheaper are the only reasons to stay here. Do everything you can to get a third floor end unit away from Mason St and the dreaded 7-11 blasting music out of crackly speakers to chase away storefront campers.

This front desk clerk here is the rudest, most condescending woman I have ever spoken to in all my 40 years of traveling the world. First, She automatically snapped at us that check in is at 3, we're here at 1pm. She advised us that the rooms are ready, however if we wanted to check in now, it would cost $25 per room. We graciously advised her that we don't need the room, and since we're right around the corner from Fisherman's wharf, we'd just leave the car, and check in later. Then she said it's $15.00 to leave your car now. I was flabbergasted and all she would keep saying is they are giving us free parking and they're the only hotel that does that. She kept just repeating that. My daughter paid her the $15. In all my travels ,all over the world, I have never heard of such a thing. We haven't seen the rooms so will review later, but if they are anything like the desk clerks attitude, I'm afraid.
