Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited this hostel in March 2023 for two nights. I should have stayed 3 or 4. I arrived late at night past the check in time but thankfully Lily and Mara were there to greet us. The owner was on vacation but Lily and Mara did a great job at showing me everything that I needed to know. The hostel was very very clean, better than many hotels. The showers are especially good - really clean and also really warm which is necessary because the golan area can get quite chilly in the evenings. They clean the bathrooms 3 times per day and it shows. The best thing about the hostel was the community atmosphere. The type of people that are attracted to the hostel tend to be social and i think the location in a more natural area encourages that. Lily and Mara gave us great recommendations even though they were new to the area and we did a group hike too. The hostel itself also has many resources for figuring out what to do in the area. The other people in the hostel were also fun - it felt like we were all staying at a cottage together. The area around the hostel is nice too. Great scenery, lots of Druze towns, and excellent natural water bodies for swimming. The area feels very safe. I would recommend trying to arrive while it is still light outside though. The roads are good but not well-lit. Thanks to Lily and Mara for a great stay and to the owner Liad for creating such a beautiful space. I will for sure be back as soon as I can!!

Well organized. Loved the mattresses and curtains in dorms. Bought groceries from owner at an affordable rate. Place is clean. Owner helped with a gps app that enabled me as a solotraveller to do hikes in the area.

This is literally one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in during four years of travelling around the world. So warm and cozy, extremely clean, friendliest volunteers and staff, has everything you could need somehow while located in isolated adorable Odem. I was put off by the high price at first but if any hostel can charge it it’s GHH! There’s lots to do in the area and the staff is happy to help you figure out any activities. Lead the manager runs a tight ship, I’m seriously so happy I stayed here!

Golan Heights Hostel will go down as one of our favourite accommodations of our three week trip to Israel. Right from our reception by volunteers, Abigail and Dineke, to the time of our departure our experience was fantastic. We had booked the little outside caravan but it was unseasonably cold and snowy so they offered us a spot in the main building. The hostel is well-designed and has everything you would need or want, including items for purchase to prepare a simple meal and second-hand clothing. The whole place was absolutely spotless. We had a chance to to do some laundry (small fee) and watched a very funny movie with some of the other guests. We haven't done much hostelling in a few years so it was good to see that there are still excellent hostels out there.

This was my first visit to the most northern part of Israel/Golan. I definitely want to return and explore more. GHH was a very good place for a base to work from. I loved the towns of Masade and Majdal Shams and plan to visit and explore their food establishments next time. This time I spent exploring Mt. Hermon. My American descriptive phrase of the area "The Wild West"! Loved it!

Tudor and the ladies of the Golan Heights Hostel make you feel most welcome by their hospitality and service just like the Golan Garden Hostel. The accommodation and courtesy you receive from them and the Golan Garden is stellar across the board. They wrote the book on Israeli Hospitality and service.

Hippie-style backpacker hostel with relaxed attitude and community feeling. Your names are written on a small blackboard on the doors of your room, the staff is super friendly, there is access to the surrounding gardens from basically every room, the shared kitchen is very cute. There is a wooden yoga tent in the garden and lots of hammocks. Refrigerators and washing machines and more than enough lockable showers. You can buy second hand (left) clothes for 5 Shekel (1.5 USD). Total recommendation.

Stayed in the Dorm. Friendly, clean, welcoming. European style hostel at high quality. Large kitchen for u to use, small shop with ingredients, maps, tips...make you want to stay. They also have small twin rooms. Try to book direct, it's cheaper!

last week we were kicked out of the hostel in the middle of night after staying there for a few hours. we had a dog with us that was unacceptable for the owner. we where trekkers with no car, it was 22:00 pm raining outside and 3 degrees. we asked the owner if there is another place to go or something to do in order to stay and he respond "i can help but its my solutions and your problem". we spend the night outside in the cold and my brother is sick for a week now. horrible man, owning this place

Response from Golan Heights H, Owner at Golan Heights Hostel
Responded 4 Mar 2019
Dear Nitzan and Shaked. This is one way of telling the story and we can clearly see why you feel this way. You are a little confused with the details but the bottom line is correct and with the disrespectful behavior you showed for the place and everyone around we would kick you out again. We hope your brother feel better by now and may this be a lesson of taking responsibilities!

I spent 3 nights in the capsule, a kind of mini caravan in the hostel’s garden, and I absolutely loved it. The hostel itself has lots of charming details and a wonderful garden. The staff was most welcoming and the owner, too. Actually a lot of the staff are young volunteers from all around the world, which is a good concept. They officially work there, but at the same time they create a warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home instantly. The owner is also very nice, helpful and you can tell that he really looks after the place. It is exceptionally clean, everything is perfectly organised. Near the hostel is a beautiful viewpoint to watch the sunset. And last but not least, there is a delicious pancake breakfast every morning.
