The restaurant is great nice and tasty food the staff can be sarcastic at times and may be allover the place well young staff that want to showoff sometime. But overall the the hotel and restaurant is 5 star great place to eat and sleep!
Technically I'm not sure if it would be considered a hotel or a B & B as its located above a restaurant/cafe and access to the rooms is from the restaurant itself (although can be accessed through the back of the building I was told). Free parking for guests is also available.

We stumbled upon this hotel by accident - a group of us were heading to Besenova water park when we got lost and ended up in Poprad. It was late at night and this was the first hotel we noticed in the city's main square. I was very hesitant, as like mentioned earlier we could access the hotel from the restaurant (up 2 flights of stairs) and I was worried about the security, however after seeing the rooms and spending the night, I must say this was one of the cleanest & modern hotels (full of character) I have stayed in when in a smaller city such as this one. The restaurant closed at 11:00 and there was someone at the hotel's reception throughout the night so safety was not a concern at all.
A bit more about the hotel: there are 16 rooms with 47 beds and they are all located on one floor. Finishes are of natural wood so the rooms have a cozy, cottage-like feel to them and are very bright b/c of the large windows and skylights. My room (#13) had a loft-like set up with a seating area, large storage closet & bathroom on the lower level and up several stairs was the sleeping area (some rooms however are solely comprised of only one level). Each room has a private bathroom (bath or shower stalls) and a t.v. (+sat).
What made it even better was the 2-level restaurant/cafe downstairs, Irish Pub - the menu was phenomenal - we ordered a few pasta dishes & wine for dinner and I was very impressed with the quality of the food. For breakfast we all had various specialty coffees and some pies/cakes and again, very impressive (one of the best lattes I've had in a long time was in this cafe). Also, a currency exchange centre is located right across the hotel which was very convenient. For the one night (Sunday to Monday in early September), the total for the room came out to be $59CAD (yes, they take credit cards for payment). Apparently a buffet style breakfast is also available however none of us looked into that. I'm also reading in the brochure that there was a gift shop in the hotel (didn't see it myself though). If ever I were driving through this town in the future I would definately stay in this hotel again.
We stayed in Poprad for three nights and the owner of our Penzion recommended this restaurant. It's a really great place, we came here for one launch and two dinners, every time we ordered Pizza (one time the vegetarian and two times the Fungi) and we also ate pasta dishes that were great . If you are in Poprad don't miss this place!
- big menu
- average for city price
- many seats
- good location in the centre
Cons:
- pasta bolonieze was ugly
- strange service (waiter brought us ice cream before main dishes)
- dirty WC
- dark atmosphere
The location is very convenient to get to/from the bus and train station, and therefore the tatras for hiking. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping/living area was a fair size. The “hotel” is above a restaurant so this is also convenient for eating dinner, as not many places in Poprad seem to be open apart from here. There is also a large common area on the 1st floor, like you’d find in a hostel, where you can sit and eat your own food.
Cons:
The cleanliness was really poor - it seemed as if the room had been empty for some time and no one bothered to freshen it up before my arrival. It was very dusty, the bed covers smelled of damp, the glass provided for me to drink from was dirty, there were silverfish in the bathroom and a lot of moths all over. This was also true for the separate common area/kitchen, where most notably there was mould growing in the fridge. Neither the bedroom nor common room was cleaned during my 4 night stay. The bathroom is also super small, you really have to squeeze in to get to the sink and mirror, and the bathroom door did not shut properly. This wasn’t a problem as I was travelling alone but had I been with a friend there would be no privacy. Worst of all about my stay here is the fact that there was building work going on somewhere in the building, which started from early in the morning til late evening, every day including weekends. So after 2 full days of hiking in the mountains, it was really not possible to have a day relaxing here at the hotel. The work was so loud and could be heard from the rooms, common room and even the restaurant at times. Very disappointed that the hotel failed to mention this before my stay. There is also never anyone at reception if you have a question, so it’s not really ideal if you are travelling solo and want even basic information about the area. No one even told me when I checked in where the common area was, I had to translate it from Slovak from the welcome card in the room. It’s also worth to note that there is no kitchenette in the rooms, it’s just the common room facilities that are provided. Also no breakfast on site
