Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We only stayed here for 1 night passing through Bratislava, the pension is central and clean and does what it says on the tin. It is only 2 minutes walk for all that there is to see in Bratislava. The room was clean and tidy and quiet, everything you need for a good nights sleep. The only suggestion I would have is access to the a fridge and kettle to make a cup of tea and store cold drinks. Then I could have stayed longer. The host is polite, accommodating and informative. All in all for a short break it is ok.

Best Slovakia Tours arranged our accomodation at Pension Berg,Bratislava. The room was very comfortable with many power outlets( good for recharging tablets and phones) The staff spoke English and were all excellent in their various roles. Breakfast was included in the tariff and provided a good selection. It was situated over the river from Old Town , but taxis, called by the Pension, were prompt and inexpensive. We can recommend this Pension as a pleasant , quiet place to stay.

We had a great stay, rooms are clean and spacious, the 2-room suite is ideal for a family. Brilliant traditional large breakfast, with different options both days we stayed. Fantastic central location close to twin city liner terminal, and the old town. Service with a smile and nothing too much trouble, including helping to sort out our overdue airport transfer. Highly recommend this place if you like a more traditional, local place.

Two nights was a pleasure to stay. After one night in a hostel that we were Robbed and slept in squealer conditions. I found this wee gem. Two minutes from the centre of town . It's next door to the American Embassy. We felt really safe always guards outside. One of us joked we could leave our passports on the doorstep would be the safest place for them 😂😂. There was nine of us having a stag. Didn't bother them at all. And cheaper than the hostel. Would recommend a stay

It is ideally located in the centre of the old city of Bratislava, very close to the river Danube. With it being located in the old city using public transport to get to it is difficult, as pulling suit cases across cobbled streets was hard. The building the Penzion is in is very old, so it has those old quirks that come with this, narrow staircases, squeaky floorboards, odd shaped rooms. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, was a good size for four adults. The bathroom was a bit small but it met our needs. With is being an old building the owner is having trouble convincing the city to let him install AC in the rooms. The breakfast is al carte style, just ask and if they have it in the kitchen they will make it for you. Do not expect big steak and eggs though.

I would highly recommend a stay here! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is 10/10, with less than a 2 minute walk to the Old Town (Stare Mesto) where you'll find a strip of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Further along are key attractions like St Michael's Gate and the Old Town Hall and Presidential Palace. Breakfast is available too and is well prepared. The rooms are clean and are secure. Overall, a great place to stay in Bratislava. There is also a restaurant downstairs which offers reasonably priced traditional meals. The coffee is also great!

A small and very nicely positioned hotel right next to the old town of Bratislava. Also very near to the danube (boat to Vienna) and the bus-station - both below 5 minutes walk. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are basic but clean and very nicely done. Breakfast costs extra and is very filling. For the price a very nice surprise!

Loved this place. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and tidy, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the restaurant downstairs perfectly cosy. The breakfast was great too. I'd recommend this to anyone who prefers to support small family-run businesses and likes ambient atmosphere. I would not chose any other hotel on my next visit to Bratislava.

We stayed for four nights in Penzion Portus. The location was excellent, just a two minute walk from the Old Town, there were a lot of embassies nearby so always lots of security and felt very safe. Jane and staff couldnt do enough for us, we had breakfast there which was lovely and they cooked what you wanted, also loads of lovely bread, jams honeys and pates, yogurts, cereal, coffee and juice, We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, just loved it. There was also free fast wifi which was very much appreciated.
