In the maze of little streets and baroque churches of Ragusa Ibla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is where you find Locanda Don Serafino, one of the finest restaurants in Sicily. Near the ramparts of the lower section of the city, in the palace's former barn, the restaurant sits under high vaulted ceilings of exposed stone. Two-Michelin-star chef Vincenzo Candiano sources his ingredients exclusively from the island, yet draws his inspiration from well beyond the Mediterranean to elevate Sicilian cuisine with his own style. Just a few streets away, the rooms of unrivalled charm, and partially carved into the rock, are located in a building from the 19th century.

Excellent service and quality rooms with expert advice on local sites, restuarants and connections for travel. I was particularly impressed with Giuseppi and Gabriele who were always ready to assist me with my travel needs. The location in Ragussa Ibla is very scenic and historic with only a short ten-minute walk to the cathedral piazza, stores, restuarants and park with its fabulous views. Would stay here again without hesitation.

This is an imaginatively created historic hotel which has really excellent staff. It also has a great atmosphere, a little like certain hotels in Matera which have rooms carved out of rock. The fact that the hotel is not all under the same roof could be inconvenient in bad weather, but the weather is Sicily is usually good. We were there in winter, had no problems and loved our cave room. The Reception staff are all exceptional, very friendly and always available to give advice or make bookings. Breakfast, which is excellent, is served in a room with views across a deep valley by two lovely staff members who make very good coffee and egg dishes. The Michelin starred Locanda Don Serafino restaurant is beyond amazing. Partially carved into multi-coloured rock, it is very beautiful to look at, and the atmosphere is matched by the wonderful food and service. The Executive Chef is brilliant, as well as very helpful with dietary problems. His whole team are both efficient and warm and friendly, an absolutely perfect experience.…

All of the staff was heartily friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and, even more importantly, clean and silent. The breakfast was excellent! The hotel rooms are located in different parts of original old buildings which make the hotel exceptionally interesting, yet cosy and comfortable.

The best hotel on our self-driving tour of Sicily. It's in a very old building so there are some quirks like the (optional) stone spiral staircase from reception. Our room was modernised and dry but one other guest mentioned a dehumidifier in the room. Breakfast was excellent and in a room across the narrow street. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location at the bottom of the old hill town is perfect so long as you can walk 10 mins up to Ragusa Duomo and central plaza. The hotel handle street parking free of charge if you need it, after phoning for a rendezvous a hundred metres below. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

The hotel is just a few steps from the road access and is located in a beautiful conversion. Of course they tell you to go up the narrow winding stone staircase to get to your room but then they tell you that there is a much easier access around the corner but its all part of the fun. Really well equipped room with space and a comfortable bed. Good breakfast in a separate room across the street with eggs made to order. Front desk really helpful with excellent recommendations for best restaurants and to book their own Michelin Starred place. they provided bottled water to take on our journey at the end. Wifi not very good but 5G available. highly recommended.

After our stay in 2022, we decided to come back to this lovely hotel in Ragusa Ibla. We were proven right to do so! The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations for not just Ragusa but also for the other locations we were going to stay. The room was extremely comfortable with a bottle of Prosecco waiting in the room, enhancing our wedding anniversary celebration that week. Very comfortable bed, and both bed and bath linens were excellent quality. Breakfast was delicious with local delicacies, made-to-order eggs and sweet and savoury options. Price-quality is unbeatable.

Fabulous experience and experience in Ragusa, Sicily. We were only there for 1 evening and took advantage of the gourmet experience. Everything was truly exceptional. We arrived before 3pm (that is when the valet is there) and were escorted to a local trattoria for a late lunch. After exploring the town we came back to a glass of prosecco in the common area before going to our room. Our car was magically parked (don't try to do that yourself - it is part of the service) while we were at lunch and our bags were in the room. The room was small but nicely appointed with beautiful linens and pillows - a small balcony allowed for looking over the street. Location was excellent - not right in the busiest area but an easy and pleasant walk. The dinner was FABULOUS - the attention to detail and our requests was more than we could have hoped for. An experience to remember - and hopefully repeat. Finally, on leaving the next day we were given excellent recommendations for our onward journey - chocolate in Modica and swimming at a south shore beach club. We enjoyed every moment - thank you!…

Perfect. I don't even understand why this place isn't 5 stars. I stayed in a cave hotel and my husband and I loved it. It's an experience. The staff is amazing Ragusa is one of my favorite places I've ever been, it's straight magic. Thank you to the staff to entertained all my questions about the area and upon arrival booked chairs for my husband and I at their beach club in marina di Ragusa. Loved it, I dream to come back one day.

We spent 3 lovely days at Locanda Don Serafino. We had a very comfortable, well appointed room and very lovely breakfasts every day. The old town is so charming and rustic. The staff at Locanda were so friendly and so accommodating. Guisseppi and Georgia at the front desk could not have been nicer or more helpful. We highly recommend visiting Ragusa and Locanda Don Serafina in your travels thru Sicily.
