Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of historic Prato. The room was just fine, comfortable, big enough, quiet. I was a guest of another person who was paying the bill. The breakfast was good, and the staff was nice. My problem was with the management. I left something by accident in the room and called to see about sending it to me, which I was willing happily to pay for any postage or shipping. I called three times and did not get the promised call back. I called a 4th time and asked to speak to the manager who was on the phone already. I proceeded to get an earful about how much else he had to do, he could not take the time for my problem, he was extremely defensive, loud almost to shouting at me, and had the nerve to tell me I should not have left my item in the first place. Obviously, no one wants to forget something. He continued to berate me and would not let me speak. I am in the service business and would never treat a customer like this. I finally hung up and was able to ask my contact in Prato if she would go there and handle this small item. She told me she was also harrassed for money, payment up front, as we were actually, upon arriving. They need to get their customer service act together.

I stayed here whilst at a conference at Monash Prato, which is conveniently located around the corner. The bed was very comfortable, the wide shuttered windows rustic and the welcome at reception good. All requests in broken Italian or English were kindly accommodated! Breakfast was included in the very competitive pricing (I think 60 Euros per night) and included coffee, pastries and fruit.

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights whilst I was at a conference. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was good. The room was perfectly adequate with a large bed and air conditioning and a clean bathroom. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the narrow streets of Prato old town and was very reasonably priced. The building is old and there is an air of faded splendour - high ceilings, marble staircase and window shutters -but a bit in need of a make over. I’d happily stay again here- it’s great value! Plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars nearby and half an hour from Florence, an hour from Pisa and Bologna. If you’re attending at the Monash University centre it’s just 2 minutes away from the hotel.

I stayed at hotel floral for more than a week The location of the hotel is in the heart of the city, (the old part) which is very lovely. There are many places to go to eat around, don’t worry about finding food! There is parking available at the hotel which is great! The staff is friendly an very helpful a big shout out to Barbara in helping with my stay! The hotel itself is a little old. It needs some refurbishing. Don’t expect anything fancy. Breakfast is okay. WiFi is hard to get on, don’t plan to work from the hotel! Even tho it wasn’t the fanciest or most fabulous hotel, I’ll most likely return. (Hard to get to the hotel with GPS)

This hotel was quite charming and quaint! I loved the fact that our room faced the beautiful garden where you could eat your breakfast every morning. Our room was beautiful, with a comfortable bed. You won't have a problem falling asleep....so quiet

Hotel Flora is in a great location - right in the centre of the old town. Rooms are clean and spacious, a but sparse but great value given its location. Its got the Old Town feel with authenticity. Dont expect the fancy touches and you wont be disappointed. The rooms are exactly like the photos on this site.

The Hotel Flora was opened on the 4th of April 1955 and I suspect hasn’t been updated since. It houses 31 rooms and is located in the heart of the town of Prato, 40 minutes train ride from Florence. My partner and I actually stayed here by mistake as they have a second listing on tripadvisor which claims the hotel is located next to the main train station of Florence – clearly not the case. PROS SERVICE – The staff were friendly and spoke great English. They are the highlight of this place. ROOMS – Were clean, comfortable and large in size. They are cleaned every day. CONS OUTDATED – As mentioned earlier it’s like this place is trapped in a time capsule. I don’t think anything has been updated since it was opened in the 1950’s. In some ways this is actually kinda cool, but overall it’s in dire need of a makeover. VALUE – We paid 70 euro a night which included breakfast. For the quality of the hotel I thought this was overpriced. On the positive side, even though it cost 2.50 euro per person to get to Florence on the train each way – because we stayed in Prato we didn’t have to pay Florence’s ridiculous 3 euro ‘tourist tax’ LOCATION – Speaking from a personal perspective this obviously isn’t in Florence (as was advertised under the other tripadvisor listing). It wasn’t a convenient base for Florence either as it required 1 hour’s travel each day. NOISE – the plumbing is noisy TOILET – Leaked BREAKFAST – Very dull affair. My partner and I actually ended up getting a diarrhoeal illness during our stay and I suspect it may have been from the cheese which is recycled daily. WIFI – Patchy and didn’t reach the room (had to stand at the entrance door to get it) CONCLUSION I would not recommend this place to others. The only reason we ended up staying here is because we booked it thinking it was in Florence and given our travel day was <24 hours we weren’t able to cancel it before arriving. I wished I’d gone to the effort of doing this in retrospect.

We stayed there for 3 nights and it was quiet, with elevator, but a little bit old fashioned.Though the location was perfect, breakfast was fine, clean, ask the lady at breakfast to make coffee its better than making yourself(tastes much better) also staff is friendly. Btw Prato is a great city. The staff recommended us to visit nuovo mondo pasticceria at the duomo and try a peach-shaped cake.It was great!
