I had the bad luck of spending 8 nights at this hotel and it was not relaxing or accommodating. First off as a hotel in the middle of no where they provide no food, other than processed breakfast on weekends, if you fly in internationally this is tough. You land jet lagged, hungry and the first thing you need to do is take an Uber to lunch for 20 Euros each way. To make matters worse housekeeping does the least amount possible, they do not even do toilets or sink in 8 days. To top this off thread bare towels, no amenities, no real pillows ( you need 2 to hold your head even in a low position) and 2 single beds that don’t stay together meaning at best you get a single bed at worst you sleep in the ditch between the 2. Did I mention the silverfish in the sinks? I do not recommend this place.

Dear George, I am sad to see that your visit to our hotel did not meet your expectations, and I am disappointed to read your remark concerning our breakfast buffet. We usually get many compliments about how delicious and varied it is. Our restaurant is indeed closed during the weekend. During the week, it is open from 12.00 until 22.00, offering a selection of meals and snacks. Regarding our cleaning policy, I will discuss your remarks with our housekeeping team to ensure improvement. My apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss your stay in more detail.  Warm regards, Linda, Guest Relations Tel: +31 (0)20 7141000

Stayed here on the 01/12 due to flight cancellations. Got assigned the wrong room with twin single beds even though I had booked and paid for a Business Suite. Reception then gave me a room where other guests were already in (seems to be a common thing from previous reviews) - 3rd time down to reception I was told no other rooms available then given a different room with twin beds. Hotel refused to refund the difference in price for the room that I had booked - I was told by reception that I had extras like breakfast added on, even though I only booked the room. I then had an additional £280.00 taken out of my account on 03/12 whilst back in the UK, without any communication! It's now evident that this hotel is scamming customers out of money, fraudulently creating new bookings on their systems instead of amending existing bookings when they don't have the rooms available. The hotel are refusing to refund my money, very rude and no care about their customers. I was not advised of any outstanding payments upon checkout. I've been charged for 3 rooms + 3 x city tax for 1 night stay at this so called 4 star hotel ?! I would AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS - it's dirty and not safe as you're given access to rooms that are already occupied! My emails and calls are being ignored - £400 in their pocket and no accountability taken at all. Disgusting service.

Dear Kealey, I regret to learn that your stay at our hotel did not meet your expectations, as our bar and restaurant were closed during the weekend. We are a business hotel, and we have found that most of our weekend guests prefer to eat in the city centre during the weekend. I appreciate your comment, and I will discuss your remarks during our next management meeting to see what we can do to improve. My apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused you, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this matter further.   Warm regards, Linda, Guest Relations Tel: +31 (0)20 7141000

Booked and pre-paid for superior room with Queen bed (including localtaxes) and food allowance. Got standard bed in disability access room. Would not refund difference in cost. Paid again on arrival local taxes Staff wanted to charge again for food. Attitude was "I didn't take booking" "I didn't allocate room" so tough! At least we got a room staff were saying to other people at check in - even though they had confirmed and prepaid bookings there were no rooms for them. Oh and bedsheet had a hole in it 4* I think not

Weekend in Amsterdam with my husband! The quality is absolutely NOT that of a 4 start hotel!!! We had a room with 2 single bed(by mistake). We asked if we could move to a room with one double bed just after the check in, but they asked extra money for it. We were surprised because the 2 rooms have the same price. To my question: "why online have both rooms the same price but you want to charge me more money?" they replied: " ma'am is business, so if you want to move, we have to charge you extra money". We were without words.... We didn't accept and we stayed in the room with 2 bed. Anyway, the room and bathroom were dirty (a lot of hair and dust, especially under the beds that we moved to make one). The beds are soft and they give you 2 towels. The breakfast is basic, not of a 4 star hotel. Outside the hotel is really nice and fancy but all the services were really bad

I used this hotel as it was situated very close to where I was attending a business meeting. The hotel was very clean, rooms were very nice and the staff were very friendly throughout my stay. I only stayed on a Bed and breakfast basis but was very impressed with the spread of items available for breakfast. Should I need to visit again for business or pleasure I would certainly use this hotel again. Taxi fare to the centre of Amsterdam was €40 but using the tram only costs €5.

One of the WORST hotels ever. Facilities in room suck & no replenishment daily. Hotel staff were rude and unhelpful & rude. Fridge not working & daily room cleaning key was removed by cleaner & end of the day you still need to go back to lobby to get a new card, waste time & inconvenient. If free nights given to me I will never come back again!

15th to 22nd August 2023 From the outside, the hotel looked just like on the photo's I saw when researching the hotel. It's a very modern hotel with a 'museum' type of vibe to it. It turns out the lobby area is used for upcoming artists to host their art work so that may be why it looks the way it does. We were met by friendly staff when checking in who didn't fill us with loads of information straight away (which was nice as it was 6pm and we wanted to get settled in and sort dinner). We were given meal times and went on our way to the 8th floor. Our room was very clean and had a very large bed. We had booked for a family of 3 but I was aware that without little one being 8, the child space was free but we were expected to all sleep in the same bed. Being a former cub scout and always being prepared, I packed an inflatable camping mattress and thin sleeping bag. It was like an extra adventure for my little one too :-) The room was plenty big enough to have that mattress down the side of our bed with room to move around. In the room was a flat screen TV. There were a few English channels available but we didn't really watch the TV. Also in the room was a coffee machine with some pods, a kettle, teabags etc. You'll also find a safe in the cupboards which also plenty of space for clothes (In the cupboards that is!). The room has an ironing board and iron too. The bed was super soft, if you like that sort of thing. I prefer a firm bed for my back. The pillows needed replacing in my opinion. During the night, you’d end up with the filling each side of your head and not much in the middle. The bathroom had a full-sized bath with a shower in it. The toilet had dual flush to help save water. The hairdryer is fixed to the bathroom wall (it's not the best but it just took longer to dry hair). There is also hand soap and shower gel provided. I really liked the link you get sent after checking in. It came via the booking.com app as well as an email. On that link, you could open your door. That's a first for me. It also has lots of hotel information (which is why you probably don't get it all when you check in) but also sections to request things. The room is cleaned every day but you have to request a linen change if want fresh sheets. Just opposite the hotel you’ll find a shop (SPAR) that sells general groceries. We picked up breakfast there each day as the hotel were charging 25 euro per adult. We spend about 10 euro on breakfast and some tapas pots and break rolls for picnics at lunch time and saved a fortune. Nest to the shop is an Italian restaurant (Villa Borghese Amsterdam). It’s got a good menu and the service was superb. We went to the hotel restaurant once. The menu was a special BBQ menu. It was good but for the money you pay, I was expecting the portion size to be bigger. There was also no kids menu so prepare to pay full price or share your food. TRANSPORT. You’re a 10 minute walk to the nearest tram (Number 2) and the walk there is not bad. The ride in is about 20 minutes but you have lots of places of interest on the way in including the Van Gogh & Moco museums (if you go there, check out Barpiatzza). You pass through some residential buildings on route to the stop (Louwesweg) but it appears to be in a nice area and very clean. We got chatting to an elderly gentleman near a pond and bridge that was outside his apartment and he was very welcoming. His English was great even for someone who was 80. This is also the same stop for the Bus route but it takes you further around the city and takes about 15 minutes longer. If you wanted to get the metro, the walk there is about 15 minutes from the hotel in a similar direction (Station Henk Sneevlietweg) Things I would change. Only a few things that we felt could do with changing. The cupboards could do with more hangers for clothes. There were only 5 available between the 3 of us. The mattress was a little too soft for us coming from a firm mattress to support our backs during sleep. The breakfast is overly priced. 25 euro per person was a bit much. Children were less but still, over 50 euro for Breakfast wasn't great. The dinner was slightly over prices compared to restaurants nearby and in Amsterdam itself. Not by much but what we did notices was the portion size. It was a lot smaller than other restaurants. We left feeling like it was a lot of money for what you got. Still, the setup was nice and staff were very attentive.
