Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in a triple room, 1 doube & 1 single, that looked exactly like the pictures on the booking.com website, a great start. Staff were helpful & polite. A pity the location, in what looked like a rundown business park, which is a 1km hike through from Livorno Centrale railway station. As there appears to be lots of unused wasteland around, I would suggest maybe a path/walkway directly to the hotel would be prudent. This would reduce the walk by about half if this was possible. There is parking available at the hotel if you have a car. This was a great base for day tripping to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and the Livorno beaches.

Best I can say with this hotel is A) rooms clean B) well placed for train station What was wrong with it: A) no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. When we asked they told us to use the machine in the lobby and pay €1.50. So when I want my cup of tea at 6:30am I should just go down in my pj’s? So I replied I have my own travel kettle - the gentleman at reception actually said we weren’t allowed to use it! Well guess what, I had my tea at 6:30 and I didn’t go to the lobby for it. B) no safe in the room for storing passports etc C) bed and pillows very uncomfortable D) the breakfast was basic - there were cereals out but no milk. When we asked for milk we got a small jug for two of us. I asked for brown bread and was told only white bread; which on its own is not the worst had the rest of the offerings been ok. Maybe if we hadn’t stayed at the Best Western City Plus in Genoa beforehand, it wouldn’t have seemed so bad but because it was such a drop in standard by comparison it was a let down. For business people just staying overnight then it’s ideal especially for location

This hotel has comfortable spacious rooms and a good bathroom. On the one hand the hotel looks luxurious and businesslike, but on the other hand it also lacks a bit of atmosphere and the rooms (although in perfect condition) even come across as a bit dated. We weren't too keen on dinner here, but given the isolated location of this hotel, there are very few other nearby options. The location is clearly aimed at people with a car: we arrived by train and that was an unpleasant and somewhat dodgy walk. (would prefer not to do this in the dark). The service is excellent, as agreed a taxi was arranged for us on time the next morning.

This is a very nice hotel to spend the night when you’re traveling. We arrived by boat late at night, and the Hotel Max was just a few minutes away from the port. The room and bathroom are comfortable and clean, staff is very friendly and reception is opened 24 hours a day, which is convenient when you’re arriving late. The hotel is also located near the motorway entrance for an easy continuance of your journey. Disliked · It’s a pity there is no bar to have a quick drink after you’ve arrived late at night. Breakfast is quite basic.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful decorating & well appointed rooms. Restaurant has a wonderful restaurant for dinner. Breakfast is included. The location is close to the train station for convenient traveling & a 15 min bus ride to the city center. Great place if you need a destination for train travel. Pisa is only 20 min away & Florence is 1 hr away. Recommend going to city center for a beautiful sunset & cocktails.

we stayed in May 2019 and thankfully for just one night, the room was on the top floor and we had the noise from the air conditioning on the top the shopping centre all night long, we did not get much sleep, the restaurant was terrible food was the worst we have ever had in 20 years of travelling in Italy and poor service.

We stayed at Max Hotel Livorno with my family during my visit to Pisa and Toscany area. I have stayed at Max Hotel in one of my business visits to Livorno before. It is located outside of the city next to a shopping center. Given room was as same as before, big enough for a family with a nice bathroom. Bed was really big and comfortable. They have prepared a real seperate bed for my daughter and it was ready before we checked in. Do not expect any specific decoration since it is a business decorated room. It has an indoor and outdoor parking area which makes hotel a perfect selection for visitors with rental cars. It might not be a good idea visitors without car since it is located outside of city without local transportation. There was no coffee machine inside the room which is really weird for a 4 star hotel especially in Italy. I did not have any problem with hotel staff , they were all friendly to us. Only problem and negative comment is breakfast served at hotel. There was no cucumber, tomato but beside them no olive in an oil country. My daughter forced to eat only fruit and cakes because she does not eat cheese and scrambled egg was the worst one I have ever seen. It was dried and black. There was no boiled eggs too therefore we ordered fresh fried egg and waiter responded to us that there are no eggs in the kitchen. She offered us to make omelette from liquid egg. Really strange. I hope they can serve better breakfast in the future. Overall it is nice business hotel with nice room and free car parking therefore do not expect a lot

Stayed on business for three nights.. the location if you don't have a car is poor, basically on a busy bypass...reception staff are very posh and a bit clipped (sometimes appear rude). Rooms are ok to good although the air con blows out only hot air...there is no bar, went to the restaurant at 7pm...staff looked at me in a disrespectful manner and told me they were closed and then laughed...🤔🤨🤔 ....would I stay again ..No ...better and friendlier hotels with better locations.

I had read the nice reviews when i booked 1 night at this hotel. My husband at the hotek in a great mood as this was the beginning of our vacation. We gave the booking print out to the receptionist. She looked at us with a hostile and unfriendly way, no smile or anything. We asked her how we could go to the city and she replied in a short and irritated manner. After this sad experience we went to the room to leave our things. There is no kettle or fridge in the room like you normally find in a 4 star hotel. The bed was very uncomfortable and we dint sleep well. The day after at check out we met another receptionist who also seemed very rude. I would never recommend anyone going to this hotel and i would highly suggest a costumer service training to the reception staff.
