Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came back to Livorno with the ferry and only stayed one night. We parked our car for a week in the car park literally next to the hotel so it was very convenient. It is a typical Italian hotel, meaning it could use some update and renovation BUT all is still well and very, very clean with a very big bathroom. I must add that the staff working there was absolutely lovely, from the guy who checked us in, to the night portier all the way to the guy who served us breakfast an checked us out. Breakfast is EUR 5 per person, it is a simple affair but still yummy and recommended for only EUR 5 per person. I would def come back - location wise it is in the heart of Livorno and you can walk everywhere.

Exceeded our expectations for price paid - 87 euro for double room including breakfast. Approx 15 min walk from the ferry terminal and 2.5km from the train station with buses running around every 15 mins in both directions from the stop just up the road. There are a number of restaurants and cafes close by. Room wasn't big but was nicely decorated and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was modern with rectangular shower cubicle and double sinks. Breakfast was continental with reasonable selection and choice of freshly made coffees. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke reasonable English. Wouldn't hesitate to book a short stay there again.

Before even checking in, the service was terrible. The man at the desk was rude and after asking to speak to a manager, he proceeded to yell at me and call me a “stupid american”. I’d rather loose money than have to stay at this place. Do not recommend.

The staff was very helpful, getting us to bus stations, finding train schedules, restorannte recommendations. The room was clean and serviced everyday. They treated us like we mattered to them as a most important guest. If we ever go back to Livorno we will definitely stay there.

Our room was small but perfectly clean. Good sized bathroom for a two star hotel with plenty of hot water. Terrific location and the hotel has secure parking. Reception staff were very helpful and polite.

Excellent location, comfy lounge. Good breakfast with ample selection of fresh fruit, freshly brewed coffee. But Noisy. Had requested in writing prior to arrival ‘a room in a quiet part of the hotel’, but I was booked into a room right across from the lift. Europa’s walls and windows are thin, easy to hear conversations and noise from the corridor, through the wall, and amazingly even from the street below my 2nd floor room window. WiFi SUCKED much of the time. ANNOYING ‘Noody’ WiFi, often slow with timed disconnects that require REPEATED, ANNOYING re-logins every few hours. Sometimes a “GREEN SCREEN’ appeared that informed me the Log-In Screen was NOT AVAILABLE. Unusable for hours at a time. Complete all time-sensitive online tasks before arriving at Hotel Europa.

My wife and I and teenage son stayed one night in April 2018 having arrived at Pisa airport, and planning to catch the early ferry to Bastia the next morning. It took us a few minutes to discover the second bed was the sofa, and was already made up under a cover, but once we'd figured that out it was very comfortable for all of us. Free wifi, air-conditioning (not that we needed it in April) and a good shower. The following morning our ferry was rescheduled for the afternoon and the charming man on reception explained to us in very good English where to go about the town to pass the morning. The market is highly recommended. A word of advice when going to the ferry as a foot passenger: head left at the first available gate into the port (most un-promising looking) and then head straight for the berth with your vessel. No need to check in, or speak to anyone, until just before you get on the ferry. We walked a lot further than we needed to!

This is a convenient spot for a stopover on the way for an early ferry to Sardinia. The rooms are somewhat faded but perfectly adequate with air-conditioning. Breakfast is included if you don't leave too early to claim it. Some aspects of the hotel are not mobility friendly are the car parking is not easy to find (as well as being 10 euros a night).
