This hotel is centrally located, on the fourth floor and the elevator works! We enjoyed the concert at the Piazza della Signoria, just around the corner from the hotel. Ines made us feel like we were special guests in a home. The room was clean, the aircon worked, the pillows and towels were fluffy.

I had such a lovely stay here. I initially had booked through booking.com however due to some issues in changing dates I ended up booking directly with the hotel. Ines was lovely and accommodating, and communicated frequently to make sure everything was in order. I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom, but I didn’t even see anyone else in the bathrooms at the same time! It was quiet at night, with the exception of a little conversation but it doesn’t attract young party people so it isn’t a hostel environment I felt safe- perfect for solo female traveller as it was just off a super busy street and well lit at night time. Aircon worked fabulously, and every morning they came to tidy my room and replaced towels every two days. The single bed is small but for a solo traveller who spent most of the day out and about it’s perfect to just pass through, sleep, freshen up and leave. A little bit of noise outside of the hotel at night but normal due to it being off a busy street. Location was overall perfect - 200m walk to ponte Vecchio, close to the galleries and cathedrals and central to hundreds of restaurants. My flight from Florence to Ámsterdam wasn’t until 6pm so even though check out was at 11, they even let me come back, use the bathroom to shower, freshen up and held my bags till I left. If I find myself solo in Florence again, I will stay here again for sure :)

The property is 50 m of Piazza della Signoria with its Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi, in front of a Venchi shop and a H&M shop, and at walking distance of Ponte Vecchio - to me, a fantastic location close to everything! The staff were very nice, allowed us to store the luggage after check out and even ordered a taxi for us late evening. The room was quite large and clean, and the internet worked well. This hotel is what in Spain is named "hostel" meaning that the owners took a floor of a building and arranged it in rooms with a private bathroom. It is located on the 4th floor and the elevator worked well. Not many guests during our stay.

We actually stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago in September 2017 but never got round to writing a review. The hotel cannot be more central. It's literally 30 second walk from the Uffuzi Gallery and from our hotel window we could see the road leading to the Ponte Vecchio. We could see the bustling market below. In evening we would walk around the square and listen to the classical musicians busking. It's the best location and good value for money. The hotel is very basic. The rooms are small but clean. Not much more to say about the the hotel itself. The main reason to book this hotel is the location and the price. We thought it was better to stay in the heart of Florence in a simple hotel than at a "nicer" hotel near the station which was not a very nice area. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Hotel Por Santa Maria during my time in Florence, and I have to say the location is nicely located and very convenient to all major tourist spots. For this reason, I’d highly recommend people choosing this hotel when choosing a place in Florence.

This is actually not a hotel as its named suggested, but a few rooms in a residential buildings... pros : great location, 6 minuets walking distance to Uffizi Gallery , and just located in the business district Cos: room size is a bit small, and you can even hear others talking outside in their own rooms ( not really soundproof)... so, basically no privacy It’s possible to stay here for at most 2 nights, but personally I would only live for 1 night

The hotel is in the perfect location. It is just off the Piazza della Signoria. Close to both the Palazzio Vecchio ( and Uffizi Gallery) and the Ponte Vecchio. Everywhere within the old town is within easy walking distance. The location is absolutely brilliant! Our hotel room looked out onto the Via Calimala (which leads to the Ponte Vecchio) and we could see the market square (Mercato del Porcellino) too. It is also within walking distance of the station. The hotel is difficult to find - it is basically an apartment in an old building. Don't bother trying to look for a big hotel sign! There is a door in Via Calimaruzza with a small plaque that is easy to miss. Ring the bell and take the old-fashioned lift up to the 4th floor. The central reception area of the apartment is beautiful and the young lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Our room (no. 4) was very basic and functional - a bed (which I found much too hard and only had one flat pillow each), wardrobe, table and chairs, and bedside cabinets. We had an en suite shower and sink (very basic) and a private bathroom (with toilet) on the other side of the apartment. It was nice to sit and look out of the open window in the evening and watch the world go by. Bear in mind that there are literally no frills here - no toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge or TV included (this is a 1-star hotel after all). One thing that slightly concerned us was that when we went to check out, the lady (who was cleaning rooms) spoke very poor English and tried to tell us that we hadn't paid for the room (we booked through Expedia in January and paid in full at the time) - it felt like there was a bit of disorganisation with the payment system? With a bit of help from my partner, she managed to find our receipt. She was very nice about it all, but communication was quite difficult.

Well our time in Florence started rocky with a large flight delay. The staff where great about this and stayed up to meet us even though it was 3am by the time we arrived. Great location for all the sites, shopping or bars in the area. Basic but clean hotel. And for the price and location we had no complaints.

This was my second stay at this warm and friendly accommodation and I will be staying here again next year. The central position couldn't be better and the staff and management are the best! The room was well positioned and exceptionally clean. I highly recommend the Hotel Por Santa Maria and Florence is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. This hotel is just a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and the Piazza della Signori and countless other must see sights in Florence.

Firstly, I enjoyed my stay here - no problems at all - and I'll use this hotel should I be in Florence again. Great location, very central. A little noise from the street on Sat night, but no problems sleeping. The only things missing from the room were a tv (which was no problem as I was only there to sleep!) and a tea/coffee tray. There was, however, a drink selection available for a fee in the lobby, so no major problems.
