Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed two nights in this hotel. You are very close to great nightlife and most of the sights in the central area, including just minutes from Michelangelo Square. We used the room for two teenagers and two adults. It worked well and we were able to open a window to the outside and look right down on the street which was kind of neat. There are USB chargers inside the main bed, a hairdryer in the bathroom of the day, as well as toilet paper are provided in the washroom as well. The complementary breakfast was quite good consisting of pastries, tomato and mozzarella salad, cereal, and boiled eggs. Orange juice, coffee, cappuccino, etc. is also available.

Due to high temperatures approaching 102 degrees, we needed to skip travel plans and head to air conditioning quickly. I could not have chosen a better place than this. Very high end in decor, and rooms were clean and inviting. There is a staircase leading out of the lobby that you will need to navigate to your room. Reception is friendly, helpful and willing to share stories of the neighborhood. The restaurant recommendations were extremely spot on, got my second best meal in Italy in four visits. Great air conditioning, comfortable beds, great service, great neighborhood in proximity to nearly everything. What more could you want? Highly recommended!

Good value of money. Very good location. Room sized a little small for 4 in a room; so 3 in a room is best. Still, room is very clean and housekeeping is very good. Love the breakfast; though simple but the 2 ladies is always ready - with smile. Simple but homely breakfast. Love this place and my family loves it! Highly recommend.

Good, fresh and clean hotel in a very central location. Beds were firm. Good aircon, it was 38C outside but comfortable inside. Fair size quad room. It was not possible to close the louvres outside the windows so there was some ingress of light. We were on the top floor so there was very little noise from outside in the evening. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Rate 5/5 Hotel room is very well kept; very clean & housekeeping is timely. Though simple and room is small (as we have 4 in a room; should have booked 2 rooms; if we had known the space) , 1 room for 3 is about just nice. Breakfast is good & simple ; the 2 ladies that served breakfast always have a smile on - that really makes your day . They always have someone at the receptionist - makes you feel safe and can always seek help when needed. Very near train station & eatery. Location is superb. Will recommend this place!

This was the fifth time we stayed here. Consistent with past experience, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Great value and proximity both to SMN Station and central Florence. Short walking distance to everything including lampredotto sandwiches! If the quest is unable to climb stars stay elsewhere. The toilet seat and shower door in our room need repair. Small "warts" aside, this is our kind of place, a small family owned intimate "home away" two star. The owner is a great person and we wish her and the hotel the best. Stay here.

This property is a 7 minute walk from the train station, 3 minutes to Mercado Centrale, and 5 minutes to the Duomo. Rooms are extremely clean and tidy. Daniella and her staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our room faced onto the street but was incredibly quiet. Breakfast included assorted breads, cereal, yogurt, juice, and coffee. For those driving to Florence, we found very good, secure parking just 10 minutes away by foot. We highly recommend this for the budget conscious. We definitely plan on returning here for our next visit to Florence.

The price I paid for a 4-night stay at Nuova Italia was more than ok, considering that a nice breakfast was included. Even though the hotel was located on a busy and narrow street full of restaurants and bars, the noise didn't come in. Short walking distance to the main railway station was definitely a plus, because it can get difficult to walk along the narrow and crowded streets with your luggage. The room was quite good with a large bed with power sockets located nicely next to it. The only thing I would have liked to have was a minibar especially since the weather was so warm, but apart from that there was really nothing else I would have needed. The personnel was helpful and nice, creating a cozy atmosphere.
