A beautiful location, nice room, great balcony and amazing view of the town below, the bay and Etna. Clean and fair price. Unkind staff, cold and snooty. We found the breakfast expensive for what it offered

Greta is absolutely lovely, we had the loveliest room with stunning views of the town and mt etna. Obviously it’s on a hill…. It’s the slope of a volcano!! The walk down to the town is really straightforward and you can either walk back up or there’s a taxi rank by the excelsior hotel if you don’t fancy it. The staff were all really pleasant and the breakfast was great, plus if you’re driving you can find somewhere to park because you’re just a little above the town. I’d absolutely stay there again, some of the previous reviews are totally unfair…. Sicily is amazing and Greta is spotlessly clean and a really great place to stay, I thoroughly recommend it.

This place has hundreds& hundreds of steps to get to it. 700?..) from Corso Umberto the Main Street & should you think of walking back after dinner YOU WILL GET LOST as those tiny vias/ alleys and steps look similar ( even though I took photos).. many hotels l around Teatro Greco are brilliant and cheaper .. the management were sour tempered, BRUSK, did not have inclination to give information.it no good pointing your finger & saying” it’s easy, down there” where is there??? If you have never been at that place.. Could not assist with luggage. Accommodation below standard ,,you pay for view. Many cheaper places have great views e.g Taormina Park Hotel & better location

Booked to stay for 10 nights. hotel traditional clean welcoming. Breakfast was nice plenty of choice.Beautiful/stunning views from the balconies. A hell of a walk down into town and back each day lots of steps.Torture in the heat.Couple things we wasnt happy about one i bought a dress while on the beach.I only wore it once and it was taken out of the room by someone never to be found again.I asked about it and they said it could have got taken by the cleaners accidentally wrapped in the laundry but never got it back.when we were checking out the owner didnt even know about it.They didnt offer any compensation at all.nothing off the bill or even free drink.Be aware too that you have to pay €1.50 room tax pp per night at checkout in cash.we had no cash left and our taxi to airport was due we had to pay by card which they didnt like even tho on my paperwork with on the beach it said €1 per adult per night under 18 free but she said no we needed to pay what she said.would i stay at this hotel again no i dont think so.

Stayed here June 21st to June 28th. Loved the place, we were staying half board and the food was amazing, beautifully prepared and really good value. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, a real credit to the hotel. It’s true that the hotel is located about 25 minutes walk from the Main Street in Taormina and a lot of steps are involved, but if you’re reasonably fit and take your time it is walkable, we walked it both ways every day we stayed there, not bad for 2 65 year olds. If you don’t fancy the walk there is always the buses, the bus stop is right outside the upper entrance to the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there, a real gem of a place. The views are stunning!

I will try not to rant in my review and only comment on the things which are pertinent to my experience. Firstly the views are stunning this is not in question but the Villa Greta is simply not a hotel it's a B&B, it doesn't offer hotel facilities! No tea /coffee in the room and the bar closes at 9.30! We stayed over the New Year period but as this was not celebrated in the Villa Greta you wouldnt have known. The fantastic welcome that previous guests have raved about simply didn't exist, and the warm friendly staff must have been on holiday. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels but are tired and dated, I think the owners operate the stick a " Band Aid " over it approach rather than address the need to modernise the place. The breakfast buffet was very dull and considering oranges grow everywhere in Taormina why is there no orange juice? The syrup which is offered was nothing short of disgusting, the lady who overseas the breakfast hovers around the area and watches you like a hawk but if you wish to stuff you're face with cake then you will be fine. In short the Villa Greta seems to cater for the German market only, So would I return? Sadly No, Would I recommend to others ? Sadly No. I cannot overstate the lack of engagement from the Owners.

3 nights spent, group of 5 people and if we decide to return back to Sicily we will book the very same hotel. Very romantic place, small but clean rooms with very nice view, from the restaurant you can see Etna. Very good location, walking distance to the main street, also close to the cable lift. We have reserved a parking upfront. From the hotel you can book a private shuttle to one beach and you are also getting a sun bed and umbrella, note that is very hard in Sicily to find a free beach spot. I have ate the best pasta with tomato souse ever! Thank you very much for our pleasant stay

Villa Greta is a good hotel. It is located high in Taormina, but you can walk to town down few blocks. Nice views from the rooms. Breakfast is good, however the person in charge makes it bad. ( I won't add more on this subject). Not sure if I would come back to this one.
