Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't trust any booking you have with this shower of robbers - they cancelled my booking without warning. Obviously they caught on they could make more money from someone else so they bumped me - be warned and don't trust them.

We stayed for 2 nights at the peak of the heatwave. It was very thoughtful of them to provide a standing fan, without us asking for anything. We had the most pleasant, iconic surprise when we looked out of the window to enjoy the view. Lift is tiny (it can squeeze 2 persons, or at most 1 person with luggage per trip), but functional and lifesaving when staying on the higher floors. The cat (named Neil) is an adorable bonus! Thank you Mme M. + team for the hospitality.

A little gem It’s isn’t a spacious 4 star on a noisy boulevard. It’s a hidden treasure set in a small quiet cul de sac, so convenient for Montmartre etc but calm and comfortable. A small narrow hotel but many rooms overlook the quiet little street or have views of Paris. The worlds tiniest lift, small rooms but ours was immaculately clean and simple. Ours was comfortable and well serviced towels toiletries etc. A small toilet/ washroom but big pressure and hot - but small - shower. Small range of essential breakfast, drink options but with tiny prices too. The family that run it ( reassuringly normal size! ) are generous in spirit, kind and patient. Native UK English speakers Free good Wi-Fi Budget hotel, budget price top standards. absolutely perfect for our stay and made such a big contribution to our great trip. Would be so disappointed if I couldn’t stay here next time.but if you need big space big egos and big prices to waste your money on, then go 4 star! We think we found a little gem.

I spent a comfortable two nights at the Andre Gill. It's a perfectly adequate place to stay, just a little rough around the edges. On the minus side, it is a bit further from the Gare du Nord than I expected, and some parts (carpets, broken from door, etc) have seen better days. Yes the walls are thin, it's a lottery whether you get acceptably quiet neighbours! On the plus side, it was adequately clean, in a very quiet and pretty cut-de-sac, and the staff are friendly. You could do a lot worse, and on the whole I felt it was good value for a stay in charming Montmartre.

I will be staying at this hotel every time I visit Paris from now on. The staff were really friendly and had a cute cat and dog. The room was basic but very clean and bright. The square it's in is really lovely and quintessentially French and we noticed a lot of people making their way down into the square to take photos because it's so beautiful. Really close to the Sacre-Coeur and also Pigalle Metro stop which makes it easy to get to pretty much anywhere. Situated literally opposite a really cool cabaret club and there's a 24 hour reception which was consistently manned throughout our whole stay without any waiting for someone to come. Booked about four days in advance and was still incredibly good value.

I booked for one night, and was lucky enough for staying once😅: 1-The elevator is toooooo small, you can't fit in with your luggage. 2- Rooms are too small and the bed as well. 3- You can hear almost everything from the rooms nearby. 4- The toilets are tooooo small, you might keep the door open since you don't fit in. 5- Toooo expensive. 6- Furniture is very old. Avoid unless it is the only available option.

Pros: Clean Good price Friendly staff at the counter Good location close to subway, supermarket, bars For the price we got our room I really can’t complain. However there are a couple of things that would be considered to be aware of. Shower takes 5 to 10 minutes to warm up. The shower curtain is pretty old. Room is a bit on small side. We did give feedback about the showercurtain and we’ve been told that they are planning to renovate the bathrooms. We only needed a place to sleep and my main criteria is that a room needs to be clean If you are on a budget I can recommend this hotel. Hotel staff at the counter are also friendly.

The Hotel Andre Gill was chosen because of its proximity to La Cigale where a concert was due to take place. It is also well located for a wander around Montmartre. It was partly chosen for its price of double room for 74€ for a night. It is a little rough round the edges but how could we expect anything else at the price. The staff were very welcoming but I did have two points that I made on leaving. One was a minor point about the shower head wouldn't lock in place, the other was that the ship's cat scavenges around the breakfast tables while you eat, which to me is a big no-no. It also wanders in and out the kitchen. As a place to get your head down though, it is simple and the bed was very comfortable. I would use it again.
