Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel was ok-ish, in a need of refurbishing I believe...Nice touch with complimentary tea and coffee at the reception and very friendly staff. The area however is horrible, I know it has nothing to do with the hotel but just walking down the street as a woman you get harrassed by random men. Avoid Barges-Rouchechouart metro station at all costs as it is a corner full of “hustlers”. Oh! Keep your hands and your eyes on your belongings at all times as someone has tried to take my phone from my pocket! Thank God for pockets with hidden zippers 😳

The Hotel is well situated to explore Paris. The room was well presented & clean. The reception staff were really so very helpful, friendly and informative. However if you are arriving after 8pm there is no reception service & if it wasn't for helpful locals(Caroline in particular) we would have struggled. The telephone number, given on the door, led to a conversation with the most unhelpful and rude person ever. His attitude left a lot to be desired and he was very rude to the person doing her best to help us.

We booked this property because it appeared to be good value and we were 3 guests - they have rooms with sofa bed. It is truly awful. Even though we prepaid for the stay, after we arrived and saw how unclean the room and entire property is, we could not stay there. We left and got another hotel at our cost. On arrival, we noticed in the tiny lobby, the floor was not clean and was in need of a good vacuuming and carpet cleaning. This did not bode well. And we were right. The room was sad, with stains on the furniture and floor. We didn't feel comfortable even putting our things down. Truly the worst place we have ever been in. No air conditioning, smelly and too much noise from the street. We couldn't leave fast enough. The only redeeming quality was that the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Do not book this.

We arrived here to find an adequately sized room with a very comfortable bed. That was as good as it got. The place was filthy and the bathroom stunk. The kitchen and surrounding areas were filthy and remained unclean the whole time we stayed there. No proper kitchen knive and no wine glasses. The lift is tiny and fits one person with one bag. Would not stay here again.

Visited from the UK to see friends who live next door. Great central location with service and views to match - staff were understanding with a non French speaker!! Room was on top floor with spectacular views of the Sacre Coeur. Thanks for a memorable stay

We had our other hotel cancelled through booking.com on the Friday before due to travel early Sat morn, so after panic surfing came up with this place. As an emergency place that was available it did what we wanted it for "a bed for 2 nights" it is not in the best condition, the lift is tiny & very ricketty, the room was basic but clean, it was an unusually hot October weekend so we had the windows open which resulted in a lot of noise on the Monday morning with the residential side of the building all trying to get children etc ready for school/work etc. It is in a very high student populated area which in the evening gets very loud & busy. The staff were very polite & helpful & it was kept very clean, however the one big downside was that you couldn't run the shower for very long as it over flowed & flooded the bathroom floor, however the water was nice & hot & plentiful.

We were looking for self-catering on a mid-price budget and this Hotel hit the mark perfectly. Positives: Large 3-room apartment, very clean, with a well equipped kitchenette, comfortable bed, great shower, good wifi, 5 minutes walk to well connected Metro (Marcadet), 2 mins from supermarket, quiet at night (rear facing room), friendly and helpful staff, very secure at night. Negatives (more humorous than problematic): Slight drains smell in shower, typical slightly dodgy French electrics, tiny lift, lumpy pillows. Tips. We brought one large saucepan and one thin blanket, both of which we used daily. The apartment only has warm duvets. Note that this is in a multi-ethnic part of Paris. You have the red light district (Pigalle), Sacre-Coeur, and Gare du Nord all within an easy walk. These are all targets for scammers and pick-pockets. Not far to the east there is Goutte D’or which is a French police special measures area. However we simply avoided that area. Take appropriate care and enjoy your stay. We did, and we experienced no problems at all, and had a great stay.

We were expecting an apartment and although we had a kitchenette and tsble and chairs it was extremely small, we were disappointed. No view. We looked out onto other windows. The staff were very friendly, we were a bus or metro ride from mai attractions.

Decent hotel for a short stay, could have done with some paint and a clean but over all a decent location and comfortable bed. Also a few of the plug sockets didn't work and the balcony door would not shut properly.
