Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From our arrival until we departed we were looked after extremely well. Every member of staff who we encountered was helpful, friendly and treated us so well. We have stayed in 5 star hotels previously and rarely receive this personal level of service. My wife is Coeliac and strictly gluten free however nothing was too much bother to ensure her food experience both at dinner and breakfast was safe and enjoyable.

It was our 1st time in this hotel & I cannot say enough good things about it. My mother's mobility isn't very good so a member of staff helped us in with our bags while we got my mum into the reception, safely where we were greeted with a very unexpected but much appreciated glass of Prosecco. Our room was perfect with a double & single bed. The bathroom was beautiful complete with bath robes & slippers. We also had 3 bottles of water and some welcoming shortbread & chocolates. Dinner was great too, mum's fish & chips were perfect with the fish batter being very light. The bar staff were friendly & chatty. Nothing was a problem to any of them. Breakfast the next day was again fabulous, I had the omelette which was light & fluffy and made even better with a complimentary mimosa. Karen who served us was very friendly & chatty. Check out was at 12 and we wished we had booked 2 nights as our stay was perfect from start to finish. Can't wait for our next visit. Well done Shipquay!

The service in this hotel (bar one grumpy barman) was exceptional! The ladies who served breakfast couldn't do enough for us and we can be tricky customers so the lengths they went to, to provide a variety of vegan and gluten-free fair was much appreciated. Also, friendly accommodation staff - the room was spotless plus the voya products in the bathroom were a nice surprise. The central location was perfect for exploring the city! We hope to return in the summer!

A beautiful hotel right in the heart of the city. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and we were greeted with a glass of prosecco while checking in. The room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was spacious. There was a lovely little plate of shortbread and truffles along with a card wishing me a happy birthday. The breakfast menu is extensive and all cooked to order. I will definitely be back.

My sisters and I stayed here mid week and had a great stay. Very welcoming with a glass of fizz on arrival (& also after breakfast!). We received a phone call three days prior to arrival to check transport arrangements, and inform us about additional free transport from the train to the City centre. We were also told that we could drop off our luggage before check in time. The rooms were spacious, well decorated and pleasantly quiet for a city centre hotel. After an afternoon shopping we enjoyed good value cocktails in the bar, and opted for a meal in the Hotel restaurant. Overall we very very well looked after by attentive staff and plan to return. 👍

Excellent stay could not fault anything. All staff excellent at customer service. Breakfast superb. Room and hotel very clean and ideally located for sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. Very nice touch of complimentary glasses of Prosecco. Highly recommend the walls walking tour which was only £6.

Just stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, we loved it from the minute we walked through the door. Despite being early our room was ready, and the Prosecco was a nice touch. Staff were great, room was cosy, toiletries beautiful, breakfast and dinner were excellent and plentiful. So good we have already rebooked.

Birthday treat booked by my partner… We was greeted with a glass of Prosecco upon arrival, then chocolate/biscuits in the room, a lovely little touch. The room was very clean and cosy, decor was gorgeous. The view wasn’t so great but I believe we was in one of the cheaper rooms (Argyle), this didn’t affect our stay, I just closed the blinds (it was booked very last minute, we saw the hotel on arrival and it looked beautiful so we changed hotels). Amazing breakfast, and such lovely welcoming staff! We will definitely be coming back, we loved Derry and our stay.
