Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is very nice and well located in a central area. We paid for an upgraded room ….. which was frankly very disappointing. We had room 108 which looks out over a roof and a really miserable outlook. The “stocked” fridge for two consisted of a single packet of crisps and a single bar of chocolate and in fairness some drinks. Problem is it’s beside the lift and very noisy in the morning. Aside from this the staff were great and a nice place. For what we paid I expected a better room.

Hotel's Favourite
Everything about this hotel was excellent, from the courtesy call a week before to check our requirements, to the checkout desk at the end of our stay. We were only there for one night to go to the theatre, which was a short three or four minutes walk. There was plenty of room in the car park when we arrived mid-afternoon. There was a £12.50 per day charge for parking, but this is pretty standard in city centre hotels, and the convenience was well worth it. The check in was efficient and pleasant. On arriving at the room we found a small bottle of bubbly and some chocolates on a plate, with happy birthday piped onto it in chocolate for my wife. Such a lovely touch. A couple of minutes later we had a courtesy call from reception to check that everything in the room was ok. It was. We had asked for one of the contemporary rooms with aircon, as it was particularly hot during our stay. The room was spacious, comfy bed, nice decor, minibar with a few complimentary drinks and snacks, spacious bathroom. All very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Buffet options: cereals, fruit, pastries, cheese, cold meats etc. and a cooked menu. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Stratford.

I had a lovely stay, the room is nice. I appreciate the fridge which had fresh milk for tea/coffee. Well equipped with everything you need. Public areas of the hotal are pretty, from the cosy snug to the reception area which overlooks the garden. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, I had a cooked breakfast, but the continental was so good, I wished I'd stuck to that. The cooked option arrived almost immediately, which didn't leave much tme to enjoy the continental selction. Great location for seeing the town.

What a wonderfully, quirky and unusual hotel. The bed was so comfortable and loved the soft drinks, coffee machine and popcorn in the room. The bar was a lovely environment to enjoy a drink in. This is definitely now on our list of places to stay again. We loved everything about our stay.

This is a cosy, clean and very comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location in the centre of town is excellent and the hotel very historic. The breakfast was delicious. There is a lovely courtyard garden which I’m sure is lovely to sit in in the warmer weather. I’ll definitely book to stay here again when I visit next. Excellent value for money!

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff. Slept so well, in a comfy King size bed. Loved that it was so handy for the town and theatre. Bonus of having its own parking at a reasonable price WiFi was playing up but not knocking anything off for that. Will be back for next theatre trip

Beautiful hotel, mix of tudor and modern. My daughter and I were booked into a king room but asked to stay at the front in the tudor part. Reception were very accommodating and swaped us over. The hotel is super clean, they rooms are beautifully decorated with a shakespear theme on the wall art, which was apt as we were staying for a theatre trip. Gorgeous bathroom, queen bed is more like a standard kingsize and supper comfy. Breakfast was wonderful, table service for tea and coffee and hot food and buffet style for all bread, pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc. I stayed here on my wedding night 37 years ago and was delighted to stay again. A definate 10/10 from me.

The Indigo is a charming hotel, a mix of old and new. Lots of interesting rooms, and quirks. The Positives - staff were all lovely and friendly. Hotel smelt incredible with its own signature scent. Gorgeous period features throughout the hotel. Breakfast was lovely - a great selection of hot & cold choices and good value. Location was perfect, right in the heart of Stratford. Parking available. Room was very quiet. The negatives: We stayed in a King Suite which was nicely decorated. The bed, however was very uncomfortable and very hard sadly. So we didn’t sleep very well. Bathroom, looked lovely but had no heating at all - the tiled floor was icy cold and without even a heated towel rail, it was so cold. There was a mini bar but no prices - we didn’t know until check out that it was complimentary- a shame that wasn’t mentioned as it was a nice touch. We did use the water from it - and that was how we found out, we said we needed to pay for water.
