We have eaten in the restaurant on a number of occasions with family. The service and the food have been consistently very good. The menu provides well cooked western European food, with equally well cooked Slovakian food. Aside from the pleasant restaurant, there is a separate smoking bar. Dont be put off by the smoking aspect, the aircon works, and you cant really detect the smoking. The coffee is excellent, as is the choice of drinks and cigars, and desserts. The hotel provides a playroom for children next to the bar, and in the summer a trampoline outside. Thoroughly pleasant and relaxing experience.

My partner and I booked a night while on a road trip. Check in staff friendly enough, took us to our room, I wondered why, then realised this place is like a maze, got lost the full evening. Apart from that, spa busy, steam and sauna rooms ok , 1 small jacuzzi. Rooms small , very warm, left windows open. Cigar bar nice but found it strange having a written receipt for €35 after 2 glasses of wine each and 1single whiskey and a single vodka, staff must have chose the most expensive drink for us. Booking out the next day at 10 even tho we had late check out, older lady on desk wasn’t the happiest or friendliest, one night was defiantly enough.

Response from Maja B, Manager at Hotel Hviezdoslav

Thank you for your review. Our hotel is stuated in 4 interconnected historical buildings , as mentioned in every OTA and selling channel, so guests know where they´re going andd most of them find it interesting that it´s not a corridor with the same 10 doors on right and same 10 doors on left size. All the guests can choose and order their meals and drinks from the menu/drink card/wine card where all the prices are mentioned. So we don´t really get the point about your complaint regarding drinks. Even if you left the choice on waiter, you sign the bill so you can see the drinks and the prices. You weren´t charged for the late check out, were you? so we don´t understand the note regarding that issue. We are wishing you good luck on your road trip.

Suberb stay in this nice historical hotel, with huge possibility for sport and wellnes, in a heart of city, vith nice view on mountains. Hotel is fast perfect. Nice rooms, good staff, perfect cigare bar. Minus is only poor parking, poor signs for find a hotel and reception and breakfast choice, for 4 star hotel is weak have such a choice. Rest is very good. Lets say fast perfect stay.

The best accommodation (situated in few historic buildings) & the most tasteful food (Slovak traditional cuisine) in town. The prices are reasonable / European standard. You should try it while enjoying your High Tatras trip.

I stayed in Hotel Hviezdoslav for 3 nights with my partner who visited Slovakia and Kezmarok for the first time. We were both very happy with our room which was stunning with a little balcony, bathroom is very spacious and bed extremely comfortable. The location is great, right in the middle of the centre and walking distance to anywhere in town and also very short driving distance to High Tatras. We only booked breakfast in the hotel as we were out every day which was great and good choice however my partner would have preferred more / better choice of cooked / warm breakfast. I was satisfied with the choice as i am more continental breakfast person. Overall a very good and enjoyable experience. Thank you!

Hotel was amazing with good food and decent service. The only things I didnt like were: judgmental and sarcastic receptionist ( probably the oldest one of all the 3 receptionists) with unprofessional approach to me and my girlfriend. Also the hair dryer kind of stopped working while we were there. But overall, my experience at that hotel was very good.

We have organized in this hotel our International Convention for our offices from 24 countries from Australia to Colombia From the first contact with the ED and later with all the staff we came in contact with we were really satisfied with their attitude and how extremely service oriented and professional they all are. Whenever we had some problem they came back to us with a solution - from handling the special meals demands for specific dieting people (7 different diets - vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free + specialities) to different specific personal requests. This kind of attitude is hard to find when you organize seminars and conventions in hotels. And we have seen lots of hotels and have quite some experiences with different people. The staff of this hotel gives an excellent example of how guests should be treated. A professional is somebody who can produce a high-quality product. According to our survey that we did with our attendees, the hotel and the services got the highest marks and all of them were very satisfied with the services. By the majority of attendees, it was also labelled as the best convention ever. The food was great. If they do not have something you can eat ask the staff and they might create something for you if it is in their capacity and they have ingredients. The drinks in the bar are amazing. We left it to the barman and he surprised all of as every time. It is a small hotel, with a family touch and is very cosy. It is situated in historical buildings and it just gives it the right atmosphere. And not far from the mountains High Tatra.

The hotel was beautiful, we had an apartment De luxe and it was really clean and spacious. Food was amazing, we had an convention there, so it was many of us, everyone had different food, but staff tried to make everything possible. Hotel is located in the historical city center, close to the castle and shops. I would recommend it to everyone.

A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, a great position right in the centre of the attractive old high street. The best hotel we've stayed at in Slovakia. The restaurant serves delicious food and is the best in town.
