Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel was nice 3*quality but not 4*. The food is below average for 4*, coffee is really really bad, not good choice of food for people that are used to quality and healthy gastronomy, not many things for vegans(milk) or vegetarians(only like pasta or potatoes), atmosphere is really familiar, staff is friendly but a little bit unprofessional. Wellnes is nice after all. Overall impressions - good for 3* but i expected a lot more for 4*. Good experience but not coming back again.

Hotel renovation was finished just before Christmas holidays 2018. The restaurant got new chairs, the same cafe room. I was glad to see a lot of new facilities. The restaurant services, half board, is excellent and breakfast and dinner always offered a variety of local and international cuisine. What needs to be improved is the spa area. The outside swimming pool is not operating anymore. Whirlpool outside and inside was not working either. Just one swimming pool.

We spent the holidays in Hotel Hubert and we came home with mixed feelings in the end. The location and the hotel itself could have been all perfect for us to have a calm stay with the family. The rooms were big with a nice view, and the staff was nice. The wellness would have been OK for us too however the two jacuzzis were broken, and also some other things (like the ice machine for the sauna and the hot/cold shower). We complained, but they couldn't do anything about it. The wellness was the most important for us so in the end it was a big disappointment. The other thing we were not satisfied with was the food quality. Too bad because except these things we enjoyed our stay.

20 years ago it must be really perfect hotel.Nowdays they should have max 2 stars! There is no receptionist after 22:00, only security guy. Bar is closed soon, the choice on the bar is really disaster,at least they have Pilsner beer. Strange is that parking is almost full and they close so soon. Interior is clean but in very bad shape,at least they should fix the lights in swimming pool area where they are missing covers for bulbs and paint walls. Even montain cottages for few € are in better shape. Staff is very nice, however the kitchen is quit expensive for the quality they serve. I only give + to outdoor area with animals and very nice staff. The location is nice, but they need to invest money to reconstruction, at least to the important one.

Positives: Wellness, they have 3 pools. Warm pool outside, cold pool inside for swimming and whirlpool. All of them were mostly clean. There were 3 types of sauna and all worked fine. Employees, all employees were kind and proactive with good communication. Meals, they server really good meals, breakfast was rich and available during whole opening hours, same for dinner. Negatives: Ants, ants everywhere. There was nice terrace in restaurant. Unfortunately as soon as we entered terrace we were bitten by ants. There was impossible to sit. That ants were also in restaurant. We complained to empolyes about that ants and their response was shocking: "What can we do with them?" so they did not even try to improve situation. And at the end we had ants in our room too, because there was no air conditioning and during warm summer nights there was too hot inside so we had to open doors to balcony and let a lot of insects to get in. Sink in bathroom, there were hair in the sink when we moved to the room. It was disgusting, but we decided to give cleaning lady one more chance and waited for second day. She did not clean it even during second day so we had to complain at reception and then it was finally cleaned. Also there is no ventilation in bathroom, where is also toilette so it's super hard to get there fresh air. Furniture was pretty old and some pieces were already broken or damaged. There was nice playground attached to the hotel, but again it was old and aged. Color on some wooden parts was almost completed removed. This hotel desperately need big investments to reconstruction or removal of starts. Coffee bar, they served worst latte in my life, it did not even looked like latte. The prices were hight for the standard they provide. So if that hotel removes 1 or 2 stars and lower prices a bit it will be nice place to visit, but for now they can't compete with real **** hotels in Slovakia.

Location, staff and food were all good. However, the state of the hotel is very poor for 4* and no wi-fi in the rooms. It looks like nothing was done to it for the last 10 years and outdoor amenities like tennis, volleyball and golf were not touched for ages either. If you are planning on just sleeping there, go for it. Otherwise choose something else.

I will write review about our stay at Vila Horec, which is accommodation building next to Hotel Horec. We were only sleeping there, other things like eating, wellnes, etc were at Hotel Huber. Our stay at VILA HOREC started with first shock when after entry in the room (room #1), we were welcomed with frowsy smell, beds were not equal, one was higher than the other for like 10 cm, stained carpet, abraded sink... We did NOT feel comfortable at all even though we were in the room for like 1 hour. In the evening we went to the reception and they changed us the room (they probably thought that we are gonna be okay with the first room). The second room was ok. In the morning and also in the evening we heard a lot of noise – banging doors in the hall and noisy kids. Food was very delicious, equivalent to 5*. Wellness, billiards ok. When we wanted to order something at the cafe, it took like 15 minutes for a waiter to show up. When we wanted to take a wine that we had in price the waiter told us that „wine for zlavomat“ they dont have now, that we should come later for it. Wifi in the vila did not work at all, TV in the room did not work as well. Staff was very kind. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND to visit this hotel (vila), price – quality is not adequate, old equiped hotel and also vila, definetely needs renovation or take away at least one *.

We're visiting my hometown Bratislava after a long time so we decided to spend some time in my favorite part of Slovakia and this hotel provided us with everything I could expect from this beautiful piece of earth. My partner is Portuguese and he was blown away by the experience! Amazing traditional breakfast and dinner, room with a view to infinity, friendly staff, relaxing spa and much more to find here! Thank You very much for representing this country in the best way possible!
