Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean hotel, plenty of hot water. Heating in the room. Walking distance of a few local bars and restaurants. A few parking spots directly outside and a park opposite. The window to our room was “internal” overlooking an unused conference room - but there were shutters and blinds for privacy.

Used the hotel for an overnight stay on route to Alicante area from Portugal and we
found it ideal for that purpose. Hotel Corona in Atarfe is only 2 to 3 kilometres from the A 92 motorway.Friendly staff, and owner Paquita, nothing was to much trouble for them.
Paquita even took us to the restaurant in her car for our evening meal. The breakfast was the normal continental with lots of cake available. The room was clean and comfortable with the air com heating the room perfectly. Parking is on the street arriving early we parked outside the hotel but a short walk may be needed for parking.
For visiting Granada public transfer is easily available if you don't wish to drive there and it takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
Considering all we thought the Hotel Corona de Atarfe to be very good value for the 42 euros we paid for bed and breakfast.

This two-star hotel in small suburb of Granada would have been acceptable value for the money, if it weren't for the exceptionally rude manageress.

She (and her husband) barked at one of our group to 'shut up!' when it was pointed out that a room had not been cleaned all day and then came up with a series of bizarre excuses, the first of which was 'It's *your* fault, you never speak to me but your husband does ' (?!) and 'we couldn't come into your room because you had your key, we knocked but you didn't answer so we assumed you were sleeping -- but we did bring you towels'. When it was pointed out that bringing towels involved both a key and coming in to the room, there commenced what would have been an amusing game of 'catch the language', whereupon she claimed suddenly not to speak English (which she had spoken well up to that point); when the conversation successively switched to Spanish and German she seemed even more upset (she is apparently German).

She also demanded that our entire group pay at once (rather than per person or per room) and initially refused to give receipts to some when they paid. She also spent a good deal of time complaining about Spain and life there... so one can only conclude she's ratehr disturbed in general. But it was no fun passing her most days wondering whether she was going to explode or be polite.

The other staff are charming and friendly; the rooms are relatively large; TVs and aircon work and bathrooms are large (but towels are few and small).

Hotel faces onto a large sandy open space, which is a bit depressing, and there is plenty of ambient noise from people sitting out and eating at cafeteria in front.

But at 20 euros per person it would all have been all right if not for the downright aggressive proprietress. We will probably have to go again, but will stay anywhere else but here.

We found the hotel clean and comfortable and the man on the reception Alexandro spoke only a little English but with our limited Spanish we got by and found him very helpful and friendly.
The lady on reception (Paquito) I think her name, didn't speak English but was really friendly she even brought us some fresh home made cakes at breakfast. There was another lady there who doubled up cleaning rooms and working on reception and again so cheerful and pleasant.
The air conditioning needs setting and kicks in after a couple of minutes but works perfectly well.
Our room was modern and we feel the hotel was good value for 45 euros double room with continental breakfast.
Atarfe is a suburb of Granada and although not a particularly attractive town does have nice mountain views and a main street with good bars and eating places (in fact the hotel recommended a very good tapas place called something like Meson del Porton on the main street (Avenida Andalucía) also there is another good one just across the road.
There are regular busses to the centre of Granada from the town
There is in fact another hotel in the town but it is on a busier main road.
Hotel Corona we feel is ideal for a overnight stop or a few days for visiting Granada

We went to Atarfe because of a concert in the Coliseo which ended at midnight. The hotel seems to be the only one in the town.
The man at the reception was unfriendly. The room was old, air conditioning did not work. We did not go to breakfast.
