Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is centrally located in an area for enjoyment by all ages. Amusement park, games centres and restaurants are within reach by foot. The rental of the hotel is non expensive and provides breakfast and dining. Rooms are adequately equipped with the needs for the travellers, clean and tidy with sufficient spaces. There are hot spring bathrooms on the ground floor with in door and out door pools, and the atmosphere is perfectly good for the users. With regards to the breakfast and dining, a variety of tastes from Japanese to Western dishes in buffet style are served. The quality can be said to be above average. Do enjoy my stay on this occasion.

We had a triple room and it was clean and huge for japanese standards. We had a great stay for 3 nights and would definitely stay again. There was an inside and outside onsen which was relaxing after sightseeing and visiting Greenland.

We got a package with tickets to the amusement park so it was a good deal. The location is great if you plan to spend a whole day at the park. After a tiring day at the amusement park, it's great to be able to rest in the hotel and take a dip in the onsen. There is an outdoor and indoor onsen. It's easy to find dinner around the area if you drive. It's also a 15-20 min drive to the sea side where you can watch the sunset! It's beautiful. Room is simple, clean and beds are comfortable.

We were so pleased to book this hotel. Despite the fact that reception staff had poor English once we entered the room it took us by surprise how big it is. We were touring Kyushu Island for two weeks and it was the biggest room we stayed during our trip. At reasonable price too. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room clean and with a big size bathtub. The theme park worth a visit if you plan to spend a full day there and the hotel provides you with discount coupons. It has bookings from big groups and the onsen seemed to be always busy even at 10pm at night. Only warning to future visitors stay away from the buffet place!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. Such a disappointment it was and where to start from. Pretty expensive at 3200yen per person you need to order sliced meat from the staff only 5-6 slices each time, everything else that is on offer if you are lucky and has just come out from the kitchen will be warm but majority of cooked food is cold. Variety and number of items on offer very limited. So 100% yes to the hotel and 100% no to the restaurant.

I have been staying at the Hotel Verde for going on five years so that should tell you that it is a place you could call your second home. The staff and management are very polite and go out of their way to please you. The veiw of Greenland and surrounding area from my room (810) makes you think that you are not staying in just any hotel. For families with children, this hotel is in the middle of Ultraman land and Greenland, and for you golfers, the 27 hole golf course is just one minute away. There are 3 resturants to choose from and during the summer months the outdoor BBQ is great. Since I have been staying at the Verde for the past 5 years I don't call it the "Hotel Verde", I call it my "Second Home". It's the place you would want to stay at when coming to Arao. Thank you Hotel Verde. Dennis Evans Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. USA

We came from Nagasaki (which is about 1 and half hours away with a change on the JR at Tosu) where we would visit Greenland Resort and Ultraman Land. Greenland Resort is a huge amusement park. Hotel Verde is rather aged and did not look as good as what you would see in the website. Nonetheless, it is close enough to Greenland resort and just opposite Ultraman land. The rooms were huge but had rather old furniture. the aircon broke down in the middle of the night and we had to shift to another room. Communication was a problem too, unlike in the other Japanese hotels. Greenland. There was a promotion with the hotel stay which gave us free entrance passes for adults, had to pay 300 yen for my 4 yr old. You would have to pay another 10,000 yen if you wanted unlimited rides. We didnt buy the extra pass and paid for coupons (3000 yen) which lasted us only for 3 rides. I contemplated going for the rollercoaster rides but was worried about my back, they all looked really fun. With a 4 year old, we took the ski lift up and came down in a luge. my son loved it cos the speed on the luge could be controlled. The ferris wheel was fun too. He was other wise to short for the other rides. We went to Ultraman land the next day and spent a few hours there. we managed to catch 2 performances by the Ultraman characters cos we had to leave thereafter. Ultraman land is quite small and you could probably view the exhibits in less than 10min. It was only the performances which justify the price. Get the discount voucher from the hotel receptionist and save 200 yen per person; ie 600 yen each. Before leaving this space, i 'd like to share my experience at this homely restaurant called "point" just 5 mins from the hotel. we didnt want hotel food and scouted around for dinner. There was a huge restaurant for barbeque japanese style in the compound but we headed beyond. Just cross the street from the Pachinko place and you will see a smallish building with 2 restaurants on the ground floor. "Point" is run by a former chef with a cruise liner with his wife and nephew. I would say the food was Japanes- European fusion. What was important for us was that we could find something my son would eat.. Fried rice is usually quite safe. The owner volunteered "nasi goreng" indonesian style. We were sold by that. Then the owner introduced us to his cuisine of the day and we let him decide what we should have. It turned out that the owner had visited Singapore several times and he was quite happy to see us in Omuta. In the end, we had sashimi, steak and some seafood fusion style. I had a delicious cheese mousse to finish the meal made pleasant by the company of the proprietor and his family.
