Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This town has a beautiful centre with old buildings and a nice park. Nearby there's the castle. You must buy tickets for 3 EUR but it's worths. We climbed to the tower (227 steps) and the view was fantastic. We took lots of pictures (you mustn't take pictures inside). This place has a special atmosphere, we went back in the past.

We definitely recommend visiting this unconventional place where you can experience the history and present of gold and precious metal mining.

Great 👍 experience last year and we are back. This time, we’ve tried hardest D&E level except F with one year older teenage boys. Loved it 😍

When my friend suggested we visit Kremnica's Coins & Medals Museum I wasn't overly thrilled - it doesn't sound the most exciting way to spend an afternoon. But I eat my words: this is interactive and takes you through the development of coinage from its beginnings to the complex ways watermarks are used to stop forging of banknotes. There's even a surprisingly realistic silver mine in the basement. I was soon engrossed. Highly recommended.

Shop of locally produced coins with possibility to take a tour in production. During week excursion is done in running factory new and historic one. During weekend exctustion is taken just in historic one and as production isn't running it's adviced to visit the site during the week. BTW - they claimed it's production with longest history in the Europe as it runs for 600 years.

A fun visit, the man who runs it was very welcoming and knowledgeable, he added even more humour to it. Coming from the UK, it was like visiting a flea market of Slovak items, so it was a unique insight into the recent Slovak past, even though many things felt familiar to my own childhood.

Outside the church of St John the Baptist on the road from Kremnica to Martin is a stone monument to mark the centre point of Europe. The claim was established in 1815 and can be disputed, as much depends on what Europe's geographical limits are considered to be. Still, it's good to stand in the heart of Europe - also the place where the new Slovak republic was declared in 1992. It's worth stepping in to the atmospheric church too.

Very nice place for hot summer relaxation. Two big pools with thermal water. One of the pools is good for swimmers. The other is for children or just for relaxation.

We visited Kremnica two weeks ago. It's a nice historic town for us, Hungarians, we have a common history. It was very rich and famous town for its gold mines. In the centre you can find the well kept Main square with nice old buildings, museums, restaurants etc. In the middle of the park there is a plague memorial: the Holy Trinity Column from 1777 and an old stone fountain. On the north-west side you can find the famous "Mincovna" , Mint, where golden coins and medals were made. You can walk around it and go to the Castle and St Catherine Church. It's a must-see attraction.
