- Weymouth DWeymouth, UK34 contributionsOur third holiday to Side and it does not disappoint. The local government are investing a lot of money in the site and this has a knock on effect with admission prices. We went today to visit the museum and amphitheater, we were told the museum is closed and just the amphitheater would be €17 each. All the photos I have attached were taken from surrounding ruins, that can be accessed for free and could take all day to explore. On the other hand, wander down to the harbour and take in a boat tour for €5 each. Visit Side at night for a magical experience, underlit pavement and ruins below are beyond beautiful.Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MGTravel75Manchester, UK417 contributionsSmall but lots of history and well organised faculty. Great to see the history and so close to modern luxury hotels. Prices for the shop are good downside but then which museum isn’t.Written 25 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Original bridge built in Roman times and some of it is still visible. Rebuilt in 13th century by the Selchuks. - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,680 contributionsWe took a one-day trip to Side and visited the ancient ruins. Through the gate and „Vespasianus Aniti” we saw the huge Greek Amphitheater with 25 000 seats! The ruins can be seen free and it’s worth to walk around and enjoy the special atmosphere of the past. We liked it and took lots of photos!Written 12 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,680 contributionsSide is 80kms from Antalya and it’s worth a visit. There are lots of ancient ruins in the towns, so we took a journey into the past. One of the most important ruins the Agora from the Roman times, from 2. Century before Christ. It was the scene of official events and celebrations. I think it’s an interesting place.Written 12 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shirley10112London, UK17 contributionsEverywhere you go around Side there are archaeological sites but watch out for men wearing grey jackets who appear to be there to guide and take photos for you. These are NOT official and I found one man in particular wanted to be closer than I was comfortable with so decided to leave, at which point he held out his hand for money and expected us to pay him 10 lira.Written 8 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
