Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a Bolt taxi from the centre and it took just 20 mins and less than €10 to get there. The castle is in ruins but is set on a mountain top at the confluence of Danube and Morava rivers. On the other side is Austria and so this castle is quite literally on the border.

The extended circuit takes you round the castle and leads to up the middle castle and upper castle. There are about 150 steps leading up to the upper castle from where you can see the rivers and into Austria. There is this really deep well in the middle castle which you can look into.

We spent more than an hour over here wandering around the ruins and then took a taxi back.

Entry for an adult was 6 Euro. On the ground floor it had an exhibition focusing on china and the Habsburgs. At the first floor rocks and fossils, and on the other floors stuffed animals, birds and so on. A lot to take in.

There is some confusion amongst the reviews here. There are 2 separate Jewish museums. This Jewish museum is on the West of the old city and is open all year round. It has a number of Jewish religious items on the first floor (not particularly specific to Bratislava), and on the second floor details the history of the Slovakian Jews, the Holocaust and the post-Holocaust period. The narrative is lacking depth, and a number of key facts are missing such as why most surviving Jews left Slovakia post-WW2 (there were pogroms against the survivors by Slovakians who had effectively stolen the houses of the Jews that were sent to the concentration camps and were reluctant to return the houses to their rightful owners!). The secretary mentioned that they are looking to expand the exhibition, funding permitted.

There is a separate museum called the Jewish community museum, on the site of the old synagogue. It is closed in the winter, but if you email they can open up for a fee on request.

After we actually found it I have to say it’s not worth it, there is little or no English information available, I could not see any leaflets or audio guides. The artefacts are nothing you would not have seen in any other museum of this type,
There are only a smattering of rooms open when we visited with staircases cordoned off so I have no idea if there are other exhibits to have been seen.
