Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We attended the concert for the opening of the season: we listened to pieces by Respighi and Liszt. The orchestra from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia was fabulous.
The theme was Rome and the Cinecitta’ studios. The video component of the program was underwhelming: the first piece about building Cinecitta’ and the first big movie productions was just ok.
The second one was disjointed, failing to deliver, with a random mix of scenes that left us uncertain about the story it wanted to tell. It was shot at some amazing locations ( Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este) and it didn’t show the wonderful Canopo ( Villa Adriana) and the marvelous fountains at Villa D’ Este. Why, since one part of it was titled: The fountains of Rome. The venue is wonderful.

Very special visit with my adult children, all retired professional dancers, to see the ballet Don Quixote. We sat on the main floor. The seats were very comfortable, and with surprisingly good views. Thankfully I read other reviews and learned that the box seats have obstructed views. I’m so glad we sat on the main floor, it was worth the cost.

I've been to a number of concert halls and opera houses in my life, but this was totally different and a wonderful evening! I know the venue is used for many things - I saw an opera there, and it was perfect.

A well-deserved standing ovation ended this hour-long performance of opera arias by an extremely accomplished string quartet and two singers. I recognized only three or four selections, but the music was glorious. Very comfortable theater seating, air conditioned, full bar in collegial reception room. A highlight of my 12-day visit.

A tiny wooden theater in the heart of gorgeous Villa Borghese, totally dedicated to the smaller ones. All the shows are for children and the theatre's staff and company is super friendly and funny. They propose shows that give a new, funnier version of classic tales, often wit a mix of puppets and actors. Also magicians, small circuses... they change almost every week.

It is a famous and historical theater of Rome, located in Via Sistina, not far from Piazza Barberini and its metro station.
It was inaugurated in 1949 as a cinema-theater on a design of the architect Marcello Piacentini.
Its shape and style refer to a hall (28 meters wide and 30 meters deep) without columns and other structures, which allows the public to view the show from every order of seats.
It is rather beautiful, but it's getting old and needs some urgent updating.
The seats are rather uncomfortable and small, and really too close one to another one.
    It's time for a change.

Great production of Twelfth Night, but just a joy to see live theatre, with socially distant seating. Drinks and snacks available beforehand. Worth a visit for sure!

We visited the Ghione theater 🎭 at 30.01.2029 and had a fantastic experience there! First of all the play ”Carmen” was professional and touching we enjoyed it a lot. It was a dance performance, so the language barrier (we don't know Italian) was not a problem. Second of all it was easy to buy tickets in the theater. Third of all the tickets didn't cost a lot (30 euro per person) and the performance for sure worth the money. I totally recommend it!

From an aesthetic point of view, this Roman theater is perhaps the most beautiful of all.
From the early 1900s the Teatro Argentina became a very important theater, whose fundamental vocation, since then, has been to give space to dramaturgical research, enhancing new proposals, and hosting the great interpreters of the Italian scene.
We have been there a couple of times, so when we are in Rome, we always try to take the opportunity to see a theatrical show with contemporary works.
It is not far from the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia.
In its vicinity there is everything you want, after the theater, to complete the evening in style.

The Brancaccio theater is a historic hall with over 1300 seats, consisting of the theater stalls and a gallery.
With its elegant foyer equipped with a double bar, it is ideal for any type of event and show.
Its large and well-equipped stage, equipped with a pit for the orchestra, allows any type of set-up.
In addition, the Theater has a multifunctional space, adjacent to the same structure, suitable both for theatrical performances and as a rehearsal room and ideal venue for presentations, events and conferences.
Many important Italian and foreign artists and musicians have performed in this theater, which often hosts Italian editions of foreign musicals.
It is still possible to see the image of the Roman actor Gigi Proietti that stands out outside the Brancaccio theater, of which he was the unforgettable artistic director from 2001 to 2007.
It is a good venue, but we're not particularly interested in that kind of show.
We certainly will go back in the future.

The Ambra Jovinelli is a historic theater in Rome with a beautiful Art Nouveau design - a unique case in the capital - whose shape suddenly emerges to the visitors' eyes from the busy and rather battered Via Giolitti.
Apart from the program, the theater is welcoming and inviting, and due to the fact that now the square has been reserved to pedestrians only, you can find easily a place where you can have a quick bite before or after the show.
It was originally one of the wooden booths "for theater use" that at the end of the nineteenth century stood on Piazza Guglielmo Pepe, in which various shows were programmed, from wizards to contortionists, from prestige games to shows with mustachioed women and fish-men, prestige games and then 'character sketches',
vaudeville shows and theatrical adaptations of popular novels.
It was built in 1909 and is located in the Esquilino district.
The theater was built because the impresario Giuseppe Jovinelli wanted to build a theater that would host comedy and comic shows in the capital.
Among the various actors who performed in the theater, it is important to remember the Italian actor and comedian Totò.
But it wasn't always easy for the theater. During fascism, due to the limitations of the regime, it became a place of boxing matches.
The furnishings are very accurate and well made...The acoustics are of a good standard.
It is rather sad to say, however, that the area of Rome where it is located and its surroundings are quite shabby ..

The Auditorium, previously called Auditotio Pio, is located between the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo.
It is not the first time we visit it.
It is quite large and has good acoustics.
It's a nice location with an equal distribution of sound across the wide spectrum of seats.
As for the seats, they are not very comfortable, but they are fine.
The last time we went was on the occasion of the concert of the famous singer-songwriter Ron (aka Rosalino Cellamare). It was a beautiful music and listening experience.
Inaugurated in the 1950s, after the urban planning and construction of via della Conciliazione started in 1937, the Conciliazione Auditorium, a prestigious Roman multifunctional complex, is located in the Borgo district, a few steps from St. Peter's Basilica.
In the past, it hosted concerts of chamber and symphonic music and, since the autumn of 2005, it has hosted concerts of classical and pop music, film screenings, theater performances, musicals and exhibitions.
Always dedicated to culture, in recent years it has focused its artistic and cultural activity on all contemporary creative forms, from dance to music to the visual arts.
Today, it is also an important space for congresses and seminars with a capacity of over 1763 seats.
    Recommended.

Just off Via Giulia this lovely 16th century Renaissance church is used for concerts. The setting is spectacular with vast frescoes (mostly restored) line the walls. The ceiling is a cast sea of carved wood. Gonfalone is used for concerts and the acoustics are excellent. Like most events in Rome getting tickets is delightfully unpredictable and prices cheap. Avoid the front side seats as they are uncomfortable
