Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wish I'd booked another bus company. There is plenty of choice. I downloaded the app as advised on day 1, this shows you where the buses stop and how long to the next bus. This didn't seem to really work. We stood at a stop for 45 minutes one day whilst the app says bus was 5 minutes away. Traffic was bad but not that bad. We bought the 72 hour ticket for Rome and we did use if for the 72 hours. We could use omnia buses as well as big bus but it wasn't clear from the app that both had different stops. Staff were friendly enough but not as reliable as other companies i've used previously.

Nice tour around Rome - only annoying thing is that the bus stopped for quite long times at some of the stops.. waiting outside the train station for ten minutes and then another ten minutes at the coliseum

Great all around way to see sites ... did not get off but listened to the tour and decided where to go back later. Perfect way to see the city on first day with jet lag! A bit chilly in February up top but hard to see die. Below esp we touched it out! Good price for the experience especially if you do get off and on.

We were in Rome last week and we had absolutely no problem at all with this company. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus, most of the guys waiting at the bus stops were extremely helpful. We booked the 72 hour ticket as we got it on TA at a discounted price, and you can use the ticket for the yellow bus line and night tour too. They have an app where you can see where buses are which was good. Yes the bus doesn't really go near the sites like a lot of the other city sightseeing buses do, but its a good way to see the city and by walking you see so many other interesting things, The yellow line does go a little bit closer to some of the sites if you wanted too. I docked a point because the headset they give you on the red bus did not fit my ears, the yellow line ones were much better, unfortunately quite a few of the points I used on the red bus line weren't working or would not play English otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

We bought a Turbo Pass for our visit to Rome. This noted that it included the 'hop on / hop off bus' ticket for 48 hours. We saw large red buses labeled that way, so on our 2nd full day when we were ready to return to our hotel, we found the ticket office near a stop and went in to show them our documents. They informed us that they no longer worked with Turbo Pass (this changed annually) and that another similar bus line, IOBUS, was the one we needed. They politely directed us outside to a nearby stop. The bottom level was fully enclosed with windows; the upper deck had a roof, but did not have windows. It was fine if the weather was decent / warm.

The bus (with 3 colors, to distinguish it from the other similar companies) pulled up to the stop. We showed the conductor our papers and got a 48-hour ticket. We were also issued some cheap wired earbuds with which to plug into the in-seat audio ports. You could select a language and (theoretically) the volume. The volume controls were marginal in my case. I listened to the audio for most of our trip (around 1/3 of the loop around the city). It was okay, with some decent descriptions of the historical relevance of some sites.

We got a map also, and were thus able to find a relevant stop the next day in order to re-board the bus and get to a point reasonably close to the Pantheon. The Rome subway lines are basically a large X, and do not access a major section of the heart of the city. I can somewhat sympathize with this; how hard would it be to dig a subway tunnel here without unearthing so much historical debris that construction would get shut down? If you are adventurous, you might be able to navigate city bus routes. I assume those penetrate the areas not served well by the subway. However, the IOBUS was a good option for us during the 2 days we utilized it. If you had to pay the full price without it being included in a larger package, that might be a different proposition.

The route of this and similar buses does get you close to almost all the major sites in Rome. You may have a 5 to 10 minute walk at worst, but you can find a stop nearby. The subway only gets you this close to a few places, but is further from most others. Depending on your budget, the IOBUS may be a fair alternative to taxis or Uber. Do your research on pricing before you go.

Hopeless small bus line. We waited and waited at more than one of their bus stops and the bus never appeared. We did not know they are a small bus line. Never saw one of their busses moving around Rome. Not once. Many busses from other bigger companies came and went but nothing from Green-Line. Their online app showed busses but they never moved their locations on the so called tracking map. Buy your tickets with a bigger bus line and forget Green-Line.

I had an unforgettable day in Castelli Romani with my guide, Marco! I had originally booked a group tour, but the tour wasn’t available for the day I had selected, so Marco offered me a private tour instead for no additional cost! I was beyond impressed with the level of customer service and professionalism of this company.

Marco is so friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure I saw both the highlights and hidden treasures of the area. He tailored the entire experience to my interests and always made sure I was having a great time. Don’t hesitate for a second to book this tour!! I’d give ten stars if I could!

Nice and quick way to get a view and feel for Rome. We've done this in Barcelona and did it again in Rome. Ride the open air roof seating.

Once we exited the Metro in Rome, the bus was right in front across the street. Very friendly staff. The speaker was very easy to understand and very helpful.

An expensive way to see the city that is completely walkable. Did not enjoy the experience as buses were not regular and only a few stops. There were 7 of us and it was probably our least favourite activity in Rome. Overpriced and crowded. Don't bother.
