Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- RonSavannah, GA892 contributionsVery interesting place. In addition to monastery the impressive art collection. Spectacular mountain views. I wish we bought package without train tickets from Barcelona. We went to Manresa later and ended up paying more than if we got separate ticket.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TeeleTallinn, Estonia295 contributionsThe hike to the top of Jeroni Mountain was a very intense experience. The beginning of the hiking trail is in the area of the Montserrat monastery. It took a while to find it. But if you start coming from the parking lot, you need to walk to the end of the road, you will pass the tourist information kiosk and the entrance to the monastery courtyard. There are stairs straight ahead at the end of the road. You have to climb them and then just follow the signs. The hiking trail was very well marked. There are different trails, we took trail number one as we wanted to go out to the highest peak. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the top, we came down about 1 hour and 5 minutes. The trail is not the easiest, because it mostly goes uphill, and some of the climbs are quite steep. The terrain was very varied - stairs, paved road, stones, forest road, etc. But the views were really amazing, especially when you got to the top. It was a really amazing experience. We went there in October and the wind was extremely strong, so you have to think about your clothes, it's definitely very hot in the summer and the sun is shining. Parking costs €7 in the area of the monastery. You can also leave it on the side of the road for free, but then you have to walk about 2 km from there to the starting point of the hiking trail.Written 15 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anastasiia MelnikovaBarcelona, Spain3 contributionsOne of my favorite places in Catalonia. It is good for everyone, no matter how old are you. The views are indescribable.
The best way go go there is to take a train from Plaça d’Espanya.
But I definitely recommend this place!

- jordanellie41Longridge, UK1,069 contributionsFirstly, I would like to point out that the chapel and the holy cave are as one. I thought they were actually two different places, but the holy cave is housed within the small divine chapel. The chapel is nothing much to look at apart from the fact that it's dug into the rock face hence the holy cave. It's got to be seen as this is where the whole story of Montserrat and the Black Madonna really begins, plus it's an easy walk from the funicular with great views along the way.Written 15 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia27,929 contributionsThis is the hiking trail through the rugged area generally known as Monserrat but the trail is called Cami dels Degotalls. and we walked a short distance and admired the scenery which is quite spectacularWritten 29 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - avipitiHod Hasharon, Israel2,901 contributionsFrom the street level take a small elevator or walk up to the lower funicular station, where you purchase the tickets. Assuming no lines, the ride itself takes a few minutes. The best views are either from the last car going up or the first car going down. From the top station there are very pretty hiking trailsWritten 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine MHaymarket, VA130 contributionsThis is such a beautiful place. We toured on our own and I think it would have been good to take a tour. We could not go in the church as there was a service taking place. We went in the museum which was great. Really the views are terrific.Written 25 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
