Worth a visit, it has interesting architecture in the main entry, the attic was amazing, and of course the roof with the elaborate chimneys is a treat!

Las Ramblas in Barcelona is a captivating boulevard that pulsates with energy and culture. Stretching for about 1.2 kilometers, this bustling promenade is a mosaic of street performances, vibrant markets, and an eclectic mix of shops and cafes.

Wandering along Las Ramblas, I was immersed in the lively atmosphere created by street artists showcasing their talents, from musicians to living statues. The La Boqueria market, with its colorful array of fresh produce and local delicacies, is a sensory delight.

Cafes and restaurants lining the boulevard offer the perfect spots for people-watching, and the diverse cuisine caters to every taste. The street is alive day and night, making it an ideal place to soak in the city's dynamic spirit.

As I strolled, the Gothic Quarter and other historical landmarks revealed themselves, seamlessly connected to Las Ramblas. While the street can be crowded, especially during peak hours, the diversity of people adds to its charm.

Exploring the side streets branching off from Las Ramblas led to hidden gems and quaint squares, providing a balance between the lively main street and more intimate spaces.

For anyone visiting Barcelona, Las Ramblas is a must-see destination that encapsulates the essence of the city—its culture, vibrancy, and the intertwining of history and modern life.

Although the food was not good, the performance of the artists, their spirit and professionalism was more than compensating. They were immaculate all of them, the guitarists, the singers and the three dancers, and offered us a very memorable experience

The beach is one of the primary beaches in the Barcelona. you can find a spot here to enjoy the calmness of the sea waves in day time. You can also find nightclubs to spend your nights nearby, if you feel like clubbing.

The dancers were nothing short of extraordinary, seamlessly blending technical prowess with an undeniable passion that radiated from the stage. Each movement was executed with precision, and the palpable energy they infused into every step and gesture was truly awe-inspiring. It was evident that the performers were not merely executing choreography but channeling a deep connection to the music and the centuries-old traditions of flamenco and other Latin dances.

The music, a harmonious fusion of guitar, violin, percussion, and soul-stirring vocals, transported the audience to another realm. The musicians demonstrated virtuosity, creating a sonic landscape that perfectly complemented the intensity and grace of the dancers. The synergy between the dancers and musicians was palpable, creating a symbiotic relationship that elevated the entire performance to a level of pure artistry.

First, I was very critical of the Caixa Forum in Barcelona, but when we arrived it convinced me to be a super decision!

At the end of La Rambla - where this iconic boulevard of Barcelona meets the see - and is continued with the short promenade called Rambla del Mar - the travel will find the monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus.
Born a Genovese - "adopted" by the kingdom of Castile he is the one who in 1492 set foot in the New World (as we know today Vikings were the first Europeans who did this centuries before Columbus) - as he was trying to find the way to India by going west.
But returning to the column - built for the World Exhibition of 1888 it stands 60 meters tall and it is hollow inside - well not that hollow because it is concealing a small elevator that takes you to observation platform at the top of the column. (for a fee of course and after you stood in queue).
It is interesting - it is a monument worthy of the great explorer and it is worth a few min of your time and a few pics.
... and yes Columbus is not pointing to the "New World" - he is just pointing out towards the Mediterranean Sea (maybe towards his hometown of Genoa?)

This port is easy to navigate. We got a taxi from our city centre hotel and it brought us just to where you embark. From there it’s well signposted. Embarking is similar. Lots of taxis available.

Come to see a block-long sixteenth century galleon in a fourteenth century boatyard (overlook the poorly designed exhibits)

This covered municipal market serves this local area. You won't find a lot of tourists here, but you will find a lot of food to buy. Nice displays. Some market cafes surround it.

The market is quite pricey, albeit offers a good range of quality food, drink etc.

The real hidden gem is down the road at Superilla Peatonal Sant Antoni - a road junction turned into a picnic area, with range of food shops etc to indulge in; either grab a bite from the Mercat or closer by and enjoy the world going by as its a popular place.

Really happy we added this to our Barcelona experience. The architecture was amazing; a gorgeous hospital campus!!! We have been to Barcelona before but never knew this site existed. Honestly, we enjoyed this more than any of the Gaudi Apartments! It helps if you have a gorgeous day to enjoy walking around the property.

It's a curious and attractive outdoor scuplture in the middle of one of the big walking streets in the old town. Modern, attractive.
