Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Robert B19 contributionsGreat market on Thursdays and Sundays, lots of unusual things to buy, as well as some a great number of shops, some selling items much cheaper than elsewhere. So go soak up the atmosphere, shop a little, and then sit in one of the many bars and people watch. Knocks the market in Playa Blanca in to a cocked hat.Written 9 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanna AOldham, UK283 contributionsWe were staying very close to this area so definitely worth exploring.
A few different shops to look around and explore, plenty of parking. Toilet facilities around, one of them was fairly vile when we went in but soon after that the cleaners were sorting it.
Several different eateries/bars outside with a good variety and plenty of drinks options.
Park the little ones enjoyed playing on, there is also another staffed play area the kids are obviously going to want to play on and it's right by the side of the park so little ones are not going to understand not going on that but it's fairly expensive considering you only get 30 minutes on it however we did find that unless very busy they were relaxed with this rule, but also when it was busy they didn't kick you off after 30 minutes if you hadn't managed to get on anything, they would let you stay longer if you were having to wait to use item.
Looks like it's also home to a cinema we didn't use and what appears to be an arcade area I'm sure the older children would have loved but was all shuttered off every time we went.Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is fascinating to imagine people actually building & using this Windmill.
I like to look at the design & workmanship, & to think they built it without modern machinery.
Don't know if it has been refurbished, but it is very good condition.
Well worth a visit.Written 2 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some nice stalls like one selling African artifacts, African women doing braiding, lava jewelery, leather belts and a guy selling magic pens for the kids. Would have been nice to have a stall with authentic, local leather sandals, bags etc or pretty dresses for little girls. Also no food or drinks stalls, which is a pity. But again, the market is small, barely need an hour there...Written 5 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel SpainEl Cotillo, Spain34 contributionsThe combination of an array of artists showing and selling their work, a music group to enliven the atmosphere, set in the chill-out vibe of El Cotillo. Worthy of your time, and perfect for a local drink and dinner afterwards.Written 17 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - catnipBirmingham, UK3 contributionsA short walk from the port area. This is the second time I have visited this lovely art gallery. It’s relatively small so doesn’t take too long to see everything. It is extremely well kept with bright white marble floors. Spread over a couple of floors, there is a lift and stairs and toilets. There is are nice sea views through the windows on the landings. Permanent collection of the surreal art of local painter Juan Ismael, as well as some visiting exhibitions,
Have a wander behind the gallery, where the shore area has been recently renovated with decking, plants, lots of benches and a couple of cafe/restaurants.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not tacky touristy stuff. Lovely clothes and jewellery as well as some different types of souvenirs. Quirky key fobs, nice soaps, enamel and ceramic mugs, funky wall holders for keys etc. And some great tee shirts, jumpers and heavier fleeces.
We went in for a look and to buy something and between the 3 of us spent €150+ Well worth every penny.
I dont know if the chap who served us was the owner but he was extremely helpful and an all round lovely guy.
So if you are going to Ajuy to visit the caves have a look in the shop. Its on the beach next to the restaurant. You won't regret it. We will be back next year.👍😁 5⭐Written 23 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
