Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited yesterday with my parents in their 60s and our children aged 6,4 and 2. We had a brilliant day and there really is so much to see and do. I would definitely recommend buying the two day tickets as we didn’t get to do everything we wanted to. It’s clean and well thought out. There’s an app you can get on arrival which helps you around the park and provides translation too. The only problem was that we didn’t get to do some of the rides due to waiting times being an hour long which was a shame. But despite this, there were so many other things to do.

This attraction is a must-see when visiting. The level of history recorded on the tours is intense. Anything to learn about the people of the time? How history worked out for the good and the bad. Well worth saying take the extra time to stay-a-while.

An impressive collection of sculptures, beautifully displayed ... well worth the visit. David d'Angers was obviously very prolific as this is just a sample of his work. Beautifully realised pieces

Lurcat is a well-know designer of tapestries. The work shown in this museum is his last masterpiece. It is huge and unique ... A Must SEE if visiting Angers. The space itself, where this work is shown, is spectacular. I wish I had had more time to look at all the panels. I intend to read about this work and learn more about it. I also hope to come back to Angers and see it again.

Beautiful gardens and for right in the middle of the city, and being free, it’s gorgeous! A small playground and animals in the middle as well as an amazing array of flowers, trees and plants.

We really enjoyed both the exterior and interior of this impressive cathedral. It is actually a Roman Catholic church built between the 11th and 16th centuries. It is known for its mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with lots of beautiful stained glass work. The alter is quite unique as well. Marble with gold, very ornate.

It is very close to the Chateau Angers, so we combined the visit to this area. The many steps lead right to the Maine River. It has a nice promenade (Jean Turc)

    Very enjoyable area.

Little train goes from across the road and will show you the sights of the town, and is well worth the 7 Euros it costs and saves walking, especially when it is hot.

Le Musée d'Ardoise is fascinating. This area of France was rich in slate (ardoise) - so much so that there was once was a law that roofs had to be made of slate. This museum shows you how workers/craftsmen used to change raw slabs of the stone into finished shingles and other items, using coarse tools. They also have a showroom of many different articles made of slate and information about the quarrying that occurred in the area.

I visited twice because I enjoyed it so much the first time around. Granted, I have a background in geology, so that aspect was of interest. But if you have any interest in the history of the region, ancient craftsmanship, and a live display of how it was done, then I recommend this place highly.

I visited a few years ago, but checked the website to be sure it's still available for both the museum and the demonstration. It's 7 euros for an adult for the museum and the demonstration. 4 euros for just the museum. Children are 2 euros. But there are discounts. I received a discount as a teacher - as is true for many museums throughout France. (though it is not currently listed as a discount on their website)

Both the Maine and the Loire are vast water ways. They are shallow so they are often dry in the summer. The lake is impressive and the setting is lovely.

Nice park with a lake in teh center. Parts of this park are cyclable others are not. The lake offers a roughly 10k trail around the lake. It is connected by otherparks to the Maine river. very well for small children!
