Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This attraction is a must-see when visiting. The level of history recorded on the tours is intense. Anything to learn about the people of the time? How history worked out for the good and the bad. Well worth saying take the extra time to stay-a-while.

I bought the 24 hour pass for Angers and this was included. Some of the art I liked (landscapes and the Flemish art and some of it I didn’t like as much. The building is lovely. Wish my French verb tenses were better as I can read some French but not everything. The history of Angers exhibition was still interesting despite not being able to read it all

Reputedly the oldest house in Angers, the Maison d'Adam dates to 1491. It is the most famous of the 40 or so timber-framed houses still in place near the Cathedral in Angers city centre. It is most known for its wooden carvings displayed all over the house's exterior -- some of which are a little risque. The carvings can be seen anytime from the street. The interior of the shop is an artisan gallery selling unique local arts and crafts.

The Apocolype tapestry is a must see if you are in or near Angers. The craftsmanship is just stunning, and the imagery is fascinating. An audio guide is definitely recommended; you can pause the commentary to give you longer to study the individual panels.

We really enjoyed both the exterior and interior of this impressive cathedral. It is actually a Roman Catholic church built between the 11th and 16th centuries. It is known for its mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with lots of beautiful stained glass work. The alter is quite unique as well. Marble with gold, very ornate.

It is very close to the Chateau Angers, so we combined the visit to this area. The many steps lead right to the Maine River. It has a nice promenade (Jean Turc)

    Very enjoyable area.

An old church with a great history. A well restored work so far with more to to come. I took advantage of the audio tours which was free. The audiotool was a great help in leading me around and informing me of what went on here. I learned a lot.

Maison des Vins d'Anjou et Saumur is a place located in Angers (in fact, there are some other places in other cities in the region), a city in Anjou Region, in Loire Valley, in France. Here you can obtain information about wines and wineries in the region and it is possible to taste some wines and to buy regional products as foie, pate and others. Very interesting place for food-lovers.

We went to see an operetta. The place is just beautiful, and the sound it's great... For the non French native like myself I should point out that all the lyrics were in a screen over the scene, so it made my experience better and I really appreciated it, however I do not know if this is a normal thing... The staff is great and they often have free expositions in the hall.

It is a nice place (entrance is for free) in the city centre. There are some interesting expositions, but the best part was the Egyptian theme, where you can play an interactive game and prepare a dead corpse for mummification. That was really cool.

Stopped here for a pre dinner drink. Spectacular views over the river to the main part of the city of Angers.

This is a landmark visible from all over. The tower is impressive with a nice architecture. We understand there are exhibitions from time to time inside, but unfortunately not when we visited. So we don't know anything about what it looks like inside. A pity.
