Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you go to Stratford upon Avon and something is on at the Attic Theatre. Please go. The company Tread the Boards has always delivered brilliant shows whether serious Dracula or hysterically funny The Three Musketeers. Even their Panto was stupidly funnily traditionally done!

The Mad museum is located at the start of Henley Street on the right…we walked past the first time. Great concept and super for kids. Prices and opening hours in the attached photos.

My wife and I went on the ghost tour at the museum in the evening. Our ghostly guide for the evening was Winifred. She was knowledgeable, eccentric and lots fun.
Highly recommend doing the evening tour with the lamp light, it makes it extra spooky/eerie.
We would like to give a big thank you to Winifred, she was a great listener, as well as a fantastically spooky and funny tour guide. She took the time to chat with my wife Mandy and I after the tour, she was very kind and thoughtful and we learned a lot.

So pleased to see Mary Arden’s open again! It was quieter than I recall but the staff were still super friendly and engaging (particularly with children). Additional to the animals there was archery, story telling , Willow making and a relaxed tour of the house.

    Lovely place

We saw two plays by Tom Stoppard.
    Both were exquisitely crafted.
    The acting was superb.
    Congratulations to the whole team.

An outstanding gallery with interest for everyone. Good cafe facilities and walks around the impressive lake. The Spectacle of Light event was outstandingly brilliant too.
    Recommend.

We stumbled onto this Chapel when walking around Stratford-upon-Avon, trying to avoid the town's excessively crass commercialism of their favoured son. Just as an example, if we had chosen to pay all the entrance fees demanded, each of us would have been £100 out of pocket by the day's end, including the farcical river cruises. You might imagine our surprise and delight when peering into the naturally lighted chapel, to be welcomed by Jeffrey , an unpaid volunteer, inviting us in to look around. He works hard to ensure your visit is an informed one, with several treasures pointed out, damaged but surving the Protestant reformists who believed that the "Word" was enough, as they obliterated the wall paintings. Ironically, the restored stained glass window includes the figure of Edward VI, legs akimbo a la his dad, Henry. If you visit, be sure to ask to see the series of embroidered works completed in 2004, depicting the life of St Helena, mother of Constantine, and her pursuit of the cross on which Jesus was believed to be crucified. The embroidery is exquisite. You might chose to leave a donation if you wish.

We enjoyed a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere on our first (so far) visit here. It's a small establishment but has a good selection of ales and some wine, etc, for the non-ale drinkers. The décor is eclectic, giving it a characterful charm that underpins the aim of its existence but also adds to the whole atmosphere that encourages conversation among regulars and newcomers alike. Dog friendly too. Regrettably, the weather wasn't suited to sitting out on the barrels and casks outside.

Nice to have this establishment and Ya Bard so close: no more than 5 minutes from each other. Both are definitely recommended even if we had to wait until 3pm for opening! Not far from the centre of Stratford - an easy and flat walk.

Hubby and I had a wonderful time around the Cotswolds. Our tour guides make it more excitable for his vast knowledge of the whole area.

Taken this River cruise on the Avon as part of our coach holiday itinerary. Access is not easy for mobility problems, depending on tide and height of river.
The scenic water trip lasted just about an hour. Coffee and tea, biscuits can be purchased for £2.50, reasonable enough. The lady guide on our trip was Fiona, she was a treat. So pleasant, full of fun and informative of the area and history.
An enjoyable part of our stay in Stratford on Avon .
