Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Andrew_KHereford, UK39 contributionsThis is one of the most beautiful spots in Abkhazia. We visited in beautiful weather and it was really a sight for sore eyes.
Its easy to get there on one of the many mini busses that you can easily find though the hotels on in the town of Gagra. We made rather too many stops in the way there and back which mage the trip unnecessarily long. Pity one cant skip the zip wire, and the truly terrible wine tasting !!Written 7 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The effort is worth it, however. When we were there, the falls were full, but there was still snow on the ground at the base of the falls and icicles hanging from the cliff face.Written 24 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately too many people are trying to take photos and selfies and too many are offering to have photo with wild animal and birds!.. Really crowded! There is a small local market with souvenirs, vine, fruits etc. Normally all tours will stop there - do not choose this lake as the only destination.Written 18 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alexander_KudrinSamara, Russia9,233 contributionsThe park stretches along the sea coast.
It can be seen that once it was great here, there are many sculptures of the Soviet era, now the atmosphere of neglect reigns.
Of course, you can take a walk, admire tropical plants, a mosaic labyrinth, listen to cicadas.Written 1 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice pics in the opposite side - marble lions!Written 30 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hamster RaulKrakow, Poland98 contributionsThis lake is right up in the hills by the Russian border, to get there, you drive past Lake Ritsa, and continue east then north. Where the jeeps stop, it's a 90 min walk to reach the lake, making the round trip quite challenging, but the valley is reasonably gentle. The valley is very pretty, and although there is a regular flow of people, it is not crowded, start as early as possible to avoid the heat, and other people.
The lake itself if pretty, but not stunning. There is a shack with shade, where you can buy food and drink.
If time is limited, do not consider this site as a must.Written 6 September 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A good thing is that it's located right on the way to the Lake Riza.Written 27 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ivan D4 contributionsThe waterfll is faaar behind the colofull ribbons placed everywhere. People are not interested in the waterfall itself but to wrap a ribbon around a tree or another object.Written 27 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JGDynamoCanada2,158 contributionsThe Castle of Prince Oldenburgkiy looks good from far but up closer it is in shambles. We had a quick look at it from behind the gates and it must have been majestic at one time but it has fallen into disrepair and looks desolate nowadays. Apparently the stones to build the castle in front of us now were taken from the nearby Abaata fortress which is not bad to see but the castle itself needs to have something done about it.Written 22 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
