Palace and Music School.

Easy to find on main street Calle Llovera. Open from 11am to 1pm then 5pm to 8pm.
Free entry. Impressive from outside and equally so inside.
Carmen the member of staff gave me a useful leaflet on the building's history.
Ceiling, floor, furniture and paintings were a visual treat.
Temporary exhibition of Josefina Vilajosana's ceramic art was mouthwatering- those chorizos and mushrooms for display purposes only though.

A XVIII palace at the downtown
dec 2015 • Rodinné
At two peaces from plaça Prim, at the beginning of Llovera Street, this palace belonging now to Diputació de Tarragona, is one of the finest samples of art of the indicated period. The saloons, mirrors, furniture and so on.... is magnificent. There is opened to remarkable exhibitions and alway can be visited

Beautiful Palace
okt 2011 • Páry
The Bofarrul Palace is located at Calle Llovera, 15, in the center of Reus, near the Plaza Prim. In 1760 Josep Bofarrull y Gavalda was given a title by the Spanish king. He was the mayor of the city and his family was very rich. The palace was built in 1770 by the architect Francesc Bofarull Gavalda, the brother of the mayor. The palace has a beautiful and large ballroom that dates to 1788 and is decorated with paintings by Pere Pau Montanya on the ceiling, with themes related to trade and a glorification of the Bourbon dynasty. Pere Pau Montanya was considered the best painter of his time.

The Bofarull Palace was occupied by the Bofarull family until 1836, the year it went to the family of Quero Rios, the Count of Rius, by inheritance. During the civil war is was occupied by different entities, but in 1986 it was bought by the Diputacion de Tarragona to hold the Conservatory of Music. The palace was restored by the architect Xavier Amoros.
