What a beautiful bicycle-path!
aug 2019
Great tour - was elected bicycle-path of the year by a dutch cyclist-journal in 2018 or so. In Italy great parts on the tracks of an abandoned railway.
Usually done from Salzburg to Grado. (Do not underestimate the part from Villach to Tarvisio! 300m of ascent.)
Transport ist provided @ the steep part from St. Johann to Bad Gastein.
What is disturbing is that sometimes the signs are scarce and one lands in the pampas....
Enjoy!

Amazing area to visit
feb 2019 • Rodinné
I cannot say enough to praise this area. We had a whistle stop tour but we were so pleased we stopped and hiked a few km here. The area is a must. Startled by a large dear not sure who was startled the most the dear or the dog. Beautiful scenery everything you would expect. Must visit.

Unpaved paths in Austria
aug 2018 • Priatelia
With great expectations we started this year this route, but we were dissapointed (like other cyclist we met). It seems to be a route pulled together by the region to attract tourist. We missed critical information for cyclist, for example that most of the paths in Austria were unpaved, quite essential information when selection your tires!

Yes, one can take a train or bus, but still would be nice to know that some stretches are rather steep before your choose to start climbing: 15 to 20% increase!

Not a Radweg I would recommend, there are far nicer regions to cycle.

Great holiday adventure
jún 2018 • Priatelia
We did all long Alpe Adria from Salzburg to Grado. I must say that the austrian part is really great - there are campsites, restaurants and breathtaking nature all around. At the italian side the facility is really poor - no campsite from borders to seaside, busy roads and from Udine to Grado not so interesting surroundings. But all in all it was great and I highly reccomend to go! If you hesistate because of your fitness form, I can assure you that its not so difficult :). There are some bad hills, but also the great part of Pontebanna which you can just sit on your bike, going down for about 40 kilometers and enjoy a nice view.

beautifull cycling tour
máj 2018
Sarting from train station in Tarvisio, the most of this route is placed on abandoned train route. Cycling trough beautifull scenery covered with Alps, trees and with birds songs behind you really relax. Returning with train, equipped with wagoons for byciclists is easy.

Very interesting for all cyclists.

This alpe part is most interesting for me, adria part goes mostly via public busy roads therefore is not attractive anymore till you reach the coast.

The best bike path I've ever ridden.
aug 2017 • Priatelia
On a bicycling tour we did in Slovenia, Italy, and Austria we had the opportunity to do 40-50 kms on this trail. It is stunningly beautiful. We rode though tunnels and there were beautiful mountains surrounding us. The trail was smooth and mostly downhill. You could not ask for a better biking day.

The most scenic route downhill from the Alps all the way to the Adriatic beach
máj 2017 • Priatelia
Starting in Tarvisio, first day we went to Kranjska Gora, Laghi di Fusine, next day Pontebba, Chiusaforte, Carnia. Cheated a bit, as we took the car down to Cervignano del Friuli because the bikeroad is till work in progress and not yet done all the way till Grado. From Cervignano is only a 10km ride the beach, from where you still can see the snowy Alps while swimming. Absolutely amazing! It was our third time and will do it again in a heartbeat!

Bike Ride
máj 2016
There are many options as a day bike rider: Tarvisio or Camporosso are great places to start your trip.

If you plan on doing something else than just pedaling, you shall ride to Kraniska Gora (Slo). It is 17 km one way, where you can also enjoy a pristine alpine village and a nearby lake.

My favorite route goes however to the south. Approaching Pontebba do not miss to stop at Bagni di Lusnizza, where you can drink a special spring water at a public place, very healthy for your lungs and digestive system (it smells of rotten eggs). Pontebba one way from Camporosso is about 22km.

The most scenic route starts however after Pontebba (tricky entrance in the proximity of the cemetery), and takes you to Resiutta. Another 20km one way, through many bridges, tunnels, and breathtaking views of mountains and waterfalls. This is a must go!
