    Excellent service and food.
Our waitress Emily Jane was delightful and looked after us well. The food was excellent, tasty and enjoyed by all the family. They even served peas and fries for my 1 year old grand daughter. Well done Harbour Tavern. We love you !

    Good food, friendly owners
Recently under new ownership. Food good, catch of the day excellent, service personable and friendly even though they were still finding their feet and busy. Great location directly on the harbour.

Good to see it open again
As regular visitors to Mevagissey it's good to see The Harbour Tavern open again. Having not booked we walked in to have a drink on the off chance that a table might be available, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we could get a table. The menu is fairly small, but supplemented by several "specials" and, despite a warning that the kitchen was busy, the food was freshly cooked and served promptly - the fish dishes were excellent.

    Great Fins on the Harbour
We ate here with our granddaughter who’s 20 months , we asked about the children’s menu which included a drink and ice cream , but we only wanted the main meal , they were happy to oblige and discounted it . We had 3 main courses for the adults , the sea bass special was superb , well cooked fish , nicely presented with great accompaniments , the fresh crab salad was also excellent, lovely fresh crab meat and the mussels were amazing , very plump and tasty served with a not too creamy sauce . The cod goujons that my granddaughter ate were lovely , they appeared to be made on the premises , and she ate all of them . The service was very good , I believe the place had recently changed hands , and the new owners were trying to establish themselves , so there was a limited wine list , but they were certainly heading in the right direction as the most important things , food and service were excellent

    Great little pub
Called in for drinks just on lunchtime. Great lady behind the bar - very friendly and chatty with a sarcastic wit which I don’t mind at all!! Nice atmosphere overall and it quickly became very busy with young and old alike. Lovely spot to relax and soak up all the harbour views and people/dog watch. Could have sat there for hours! Will definitely return - if only for the banter!

Coming in at First Place is the Harbour Tavern
5* Food, Atomosphere and a Friendly attitude. Had a pie and a pint tonight for dinner after a lovely evening strolling the harbour, the food was second to none 10/10 value for money and all the staff had a smile on their face. My new hotspot for food or drinks! We both had the steak & ale pie special with beautiful crusty pastry and the most tender rich beef! Had the best evening, thank you to all at the harbour tavern I can’t wait to be back and see you all tomorrow!

My son who lives in Meva got married and the Harbour Tavern was the venue for the reception and party. 30 odd satdown to dinner and many friends joined us after for the party. The management and staff could not do enough to make the occasion a roaring sucess. The food went far beyond our high expectations, many congratulations to the chef.overall everybody said they had a marvelous time.Thoroughly recomended.

Had a most delicious Fish dinner. We both had fish but with salad and mushy peas instead of chips. Everything was really tasty. Also with the meal we had Merlot.

My wife and I were in Mevagissey for a couple of days. We ate out at the Salamander on the first night (fantastic restaurant, lovely meal) but thought it would be nice to have a view of the harbour for our second meal. We booked a table at the Harbour Tavern, and were delighted to be able to have a table in the window, overlooking the water.
When we got there the next evening, we were disappointed to find that the table had been given to other people and we were to be seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. The staff were apologetic, and offered a discount on the meal, so we accepted the table offered. Service after that was patchy. After waiting some time without anybody coming over we had to request menus.
A table in the window became empty while we were waiting for food. Nobody thought to ask us if we would like to move to it, so we asked, and were able to move. Our starters then arrived, but without any cutlery. I had to go to the bar to ask for some.
The food was OK, standard pub grub.
Overall not a great experience.

come to visit family in Mevagissey, thought harbour tavern looked nice from the outside,so i looked at menu but looked a little basic as i was waiting i was talking to a few people outside social club smoking got talking i asked would they recommend the tavern they said no! because they not been paying the staff but i was not sure it was correct so i went in with my friend and we sat at bar for a drink got talking to a lovely young barmaid not sure if she was the manager but anyway i asked her and told her what was said to me and she did confirm that over 10 staff left because not getting paid or payslips i was not happy giving money to a company that does not pay and she politely agreed we left after and will not be returning to the harbour tavern.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly , but the visit was spoilt for us by the landlady's dog constantly around our feet begging for food, even pawing our legs for attention. No problem with dogs generally but should be under close control in pubs, cafes etc.
