- Claire SHindley, United Kingdom10 contributionsUnexpected hit.Brilliant little place. We nipped in to escape the rain but was pleasantly surprised, we came back again later, was brilliant to see and learn a bit more about the animals living in the local waters, even my teenager loved it. Free entry they just ask for a donation which is used towards to upkeep of the aquarium.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 August 2023
- Janice CTaunton, United Kingdom80 contributionsRelaxing & free! This is a lovely surprise as you walk round the southern end of the harbour. It is completely free (but glad of any donations) & open till 6pm. The fish & other occupants are all native & local & give a wonderful glimpse of life in the adjacent sea. They all look very healthy & well cared for. It is housed in the old lifeboat station.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 September 2023

Some really interesting fish in the tanks and the staff were very knowledgeable and happy to talk to the kids. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great little aquarium. One of the best things about Mevagissey. The lady was friendly and very knowledgeable. Well worth a donation.

We went to the aquarium not really knowing what to expect, I was saddend to see a great many fish in each tank with hardly any space to swim in, the water looked like it needed cleaning out and fresh put in. Such a sad life for all these beautiful creatures

I felt ashamed to be looking at these poor fish, crabs etc. placed in tanks far too small for them. It seemed so cruel to have them living in such miserable conditions. They need to be swimming free in the sea. I so regret going in.

Lovely little aquarium showing local sea life, with some local history. Great that a small harbour village runs such a facility through donations. Always worth a visit to donate to the place.

A good little aquarium, certainly worth a visit, if you are passing on the quayside (and it's free entry).

Hello, I know it is open from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm most days, but that may begin from the beginning of April. Sorry I cannot be of any more help as I live in Bristol and have only visited myself.
