About
The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Ride a bicycle or tandem around the track devoted to cyclists. Plenty to see , birds on the lakes, coffee stops and there toilets within the park . Good security . We had some lovely jasmine flowers and scents when we took our break there. Good way to walk or jog of the large portion meals .Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 4 April 2023

It is gated and guarded so felt very safe and there are so many people about enjoying the fresh air. Can hire bikes which is fun way to see more of the park. Plenty of snack vendors and toilets. It is not so easy to get there by subway but walking down the hill from Paulista Ave along one of the nice streets a pleasure in itself.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 March 2024

Vast tranquil space. We walked from the centre (Palista Ave) so it is possible! Map was useful but it was not tourist friendly. Entrance we went to - 9b was shut for no reason. Museum of Art was shut with dozens of police around (big event ?) Wanted a bus tour around but found it difficult to work out how to. Lots of park officials but none spoke English.

This is a mesmerizing huge, fairly clean, park of greenery and lakes, which also houses other attractions of São Paulo, such as a planetarium and a Japanese garden. There are many pathways, playgrounds, cycling lanes, benches, restrooms, and more. But always be careful and somewhat vigilant, as thievery is a higher than normal risk.

I haven´t found in the park some written information, but as it is in the entry to Congonhas airport I am sure it is restricted or forbidden.
