Overly Expensive: not recommended

Casa Rosa is the destination for young middle-to-upper-class Cariocas on a Sunday evening. The entry covers the Roda de Samba and your food. They serve Feijoada, a bean and beef stew with rice, which really is super delicious. There's also the option to pay the entry without the food.

The Samba is great, but no better than any other in Rio and the drinks are rather pricey. It's also a fairly difficult place to get to. Especially if you're staying in the Copacabana or Ipanema area; it will involve an underground ride to Largo do Machado and then ride the 133 bus another 10 minutes. Or you can always grab a taxi.

It's an enjoyable night, but if you're in Rio on a Monday night, I recommend going to Pedro do Sal instead. It's a street Samba in the city centre which is completely free and has a much livelier atmosphere. Food and drink vendors pitch up so you can enjoy everything you'd get at Casa Rosa for a tenth of the price.

Terrible service, crowded, very poor experience
nov 2013 • Páry
We arrived at around 9 for the Samba and Feijoada. We didn't have enough cash, so went to an atm. They said that the Feijoada would be available until 9:30. When we got back at 9:15 they told us that the food was finished despite having just been told otherwise. We still decided to go in to experience the samba but things only got worse. The place was extremely crowded and you could barely move near the samba band. They also had a TV with the football on which everyone was crowding around and this was right next to the samba band further crowding things. The music may have been ok, but the sound system was dreadful with it clipping terribly due to being too loud for what the speakers could handle. We decided to leave straight away and requsted our money back but were refused. If you want to press up against a whole lot of sweaty strangers, listen to poor quality music, and risk going to a dodgy area of Rio then this may be for you but it wasn't our thing and was a dissapointing finish to our visit to Rio.

Great Samba in Rio
júl 2013 • Priatelia
Went here on a Sunday night after Brazil won the confederation cup. The place was packed with people and this converted brothel was filled with energy. The band was absolutely the best samba I have ever heard, especially the female singer. It attracts a young, hot looking crowd but even us older 40-50 year olds managed to fit in. Highly recommended for a fun evening!

Soak in the samba atmosphere
máj 2013 • Priatelia
Got here at 6pm on a Sunday and paid R25 for cover and R10 for a plate of the local fd. Quite decent actually. Had my dinner before the band started playing samba music at abt 7pm. Not many danced for this first set as it was probably early but by the 2nd set at abt 820pm it got crowded and many were grooving to the music. Nice casual place, relatively cheap beer at R6 and atmosphere here was great!

Saw great samba parties at Casa Rosa. It’s a Beautiful venue. Only go here on Sunday afternoon. Get there early! But big line on Sundays at 7pm. I had a great time. Though I went there alone but made friends with Brazilians. He was cool. We danced all night together. I want to thank you tripadvisor. Because I found Casa Rosa from here.

Extremly fun

This is for the young ones. People on their twenties crowd the place which used to be a brothel if I'm not wrong. But don't worry. Nowadays everything is changed. There's two dance floors, not too big to be honest. On the main one, in genera, there's a Brazilian band, sometimes samba, sometimes rock, sometimes Marchinha de carnaval..it changes....on the other one it plays funk, hip hop and lot more.
The drink is cheap, there's a place to keep your purse...saturday they have a lot of different parties there...but Friday is the day of Baile da Alice. The attractions change but what invite people is the fact that you pay only 20 or 30 reais (f / m) and get beer, soda, water until two a.m.
I really like the vibe of the place and there's always interisting people to chat on the tables in the varanda.

If you want to live the real brasilian spirit, go to Casa Rosa! Sundays they have a very delicious feijoada from 7 pm until 9.20 pm. Then you can enjoy music in live like samba, bossanova or samba rock. You have another room where you can dance funky.
Very cheap.
Enjoy Brasil in Casa Rosa! I have a really cuul memories from there.

100% Brazilian
Casa Rosa is a wonderful place to dance samba and other kinds of brazilian's rhythm. Me and my friends met lots of other people there. All of them young and cool!! We also tried their feijoada (a famous brazilian plate) and we all liked it very much!
