Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in the Miracle Park, the clock tower is a replica of an Ottoman era building. It is surrounded by small pools of water on the sides. The tower has three levels. At the bottom is the entrance above which there is a galleried walkway. This is topped by the tower itself at the top of which is are the clock dials. There are balconies facing all directions in the middle of the tower. Above the clock dials is a viewing gallery topped by a golden cupola.

There are fountains on the sides of the building. As per the local people, the fountains spout local Georgian alcohol "Chacha" which gives the tower its name. Apparently, the fountains only operate at specific times and days. Unfortunately, they were not operating while I was there. But you can check out the schedule and enjoy the free "Chacha".

This Ottoman Turkish style, 25m high clock tower looks a bit lost on this vast stretch of flat land near the sea. The Ottoman rulers used clock towers to ensure people of Islamic faith would do their prayers in time (five times a day). Here in Batumi few people still adhere to these rituals.

The intention for building this replica clock tower in 2012 was rather different than that of the Ottoman sultans. Batumi wanted another tourist attraction. For this reason a choice was made for a Chacha clock tower, which was supposed to spout chacha, the traditional Georgian heavy drink. However the surrounding fountains do not even spray water and the closed structure looks neglected.and disused.

Frenchman Raymond Péré, who designed the famous 1901 Izmir clocktower in similar style, would be disappointed to see this replica in Batumi.

Just next to the port and walking distance from our hotel. Early morning, the place is empty so you can easily take a few pictures with a nice background view from this tower.

Just a regular tower, without anything special or something. You will see it when you walking in Batumi boulevard.

In Batumi as well as in Izmir, Jaffa, and many other places that were formerly Turkish, we find a clock tower in the harbour or near the town center. The Batumi one dispensed wodka. I cannot say if this tradition still exists because for lack of interest I did not try it out. Go and see yourself.

I visited this small tower in the evening and it wasn't possible to go inside. It looks nice enough from the outside, but probably isn't worth a special trip to see.

Chacha is a strong alcoholic drink which is made in Georgia. This tower is dedicated to the national georgian drink. There is a legend that in the evenings the chacha is falling from the 4 fountains around the tower.
Interesting design of the tower, reminds turkish architecture.
