Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This ancient temple is right in front of the wharf where our cruise ship docked. As we were rushing for the second part of our guided tour, we managed to snapped some pictures on the temple doorstep. There are plenty of snack food and drinks along the temple leading to the bus parking area. The charcoal burnt sweet potato is delicious.

At Xiling Gorges ,we disembarked to visit an ancient worship place. Huangling Temple was built to honour 'flood control' deity , Da Yu . The temple was restored , rebuild , refurbished and repaired many times over 2500 years. The last facelift was during the Ming dynasty.

We climbed the 36 steps to the temple gate. Persistent fruit vendors swarmed on our arrival. The main hall is supported by 36 huge pillars. On each pillar, chronological events of the mighty and unpredictable Yangzi were engraved with details. They include events of disastrous flooding ,low water level years, river battles, boat disasters and prominent visitors.Empress Dowager worshiped in here , before embarking on her river journey.

Huangling Temple is surrounded by fruit orchards and orange trees. We were advised to haggle prices with the onshore fruit vendors.

This temple was just outside where our cruise boat docked. We went inside for a quick visit. Nice but not a spectacular temple.
