    Wonderful insight
Many of the houses have interpreters who tell the stories of how some of the artifacts came to be in the museum; they were engaging, informative and passionate about the ethnography but also about engaging with us as visitors. A real insight into the history of Georgia. A shout out to the security staff who helped us access WiFi to order a taxi as a the weather turned!

    Interesting
The staff is friendly and motivated to tell you about the houses (also in english). Unfortunately many houses were closed. The area is quite big and you have to walk a little between the houses. The prices were 20 for an adult and 6 for a child, small children fred.

Interesting museum with very friendly and enthusiastic staff
A great outdoors museum with guides in some of the houses waiting for you. Can explain the history in Georgian, Russian or English. I found the part about winemaking especially interesting. All the houses have been brought from every part of the country and reconstructed on site. Unfortunately, at the time of this review, a large section was off-limits due to renovation work. This includes the Svan Tower, however you are able to see it from a distance. Be aware that it is difficult to get to on foot, and that you strongly consider a taxi/own car for the last bit of the way.

Great museum for people who are interested in Georgian folk culture
I personally think this museum is amazing. Nicely conserve local folklore and village material cultures, with knowledgable guides who introduce these to you. They speak English pretty well, but do ask questions and they will tell you a lot more!! Lots of thanks to the guide at the ethnographers house, such a sweet and knowledgeable lady :)

The place is vast, but many houses are closed. Still, the scenery is wonderful and I enjoyed just walking around. There are several dwellings open for excursion which is very interesting if you are into the ethnography. The guides are eager to tell you all about Georgian culture - and there are many artifacts of past years to observe. I believe the museum was established around 60s-70s and might need some renovation - but I really liked it as it is, old-fashioned and calm. I hope the museum will continue prosper and evolve.

It was so interesting to hear how the people lived during that time.
7 houses have guides in them who will tell you about the house you're standing in.
Be aware that not all speak English so gestures will be needed.
There is also a little museum about the man who created the place.
Also be aware that at the bottom of the hill, there is a mini bus that can take you up the road. We only saw it as we were coming back and had walked all the way down! It's near the cafe which is also worth a stop.

Documenting how Georgians lived in the past centuries, especially the nineteenth century, I enjoyed learning how food was made and stored, and I was also amazed at the architecture of the old houses and their progress.

A few old buildings, which were not bad. I liked seeing the way people lived but many of them were locked up, not a great cultural experience.

A little of all Georgia in one place. Houses that were brought from all around Georgia with their specificities and a guide inside to explain you everithing in Eng / Rus or Kartuli obvious. Near turtle lake can do both. To visit this museum will need no more than 2 hours. Inside the houses some specific items and clothes from all around the country. A nice place to visit.
