Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a Brit abroad it was lovely to embrace customs, see and learn the history of where we were staying and this gem of a museum gave you everything with some amazing exhibits.

I spent 3 hours here without a problem. All exhibits are displayed with English information as well as Slovak. A full explanation of Slovakia’s part in WW2. Plenty to look at bith inside and outside. A local friend told me that all the German tanks havevtheir guns pointing downwards whereas the Russian tanks thevguns point upwards. An amusing insight into the previous socialist thinking and way of influencing the workd.

Interesting museum, nice building and exhibition. Very informative, the multimedia part is excellently done, with proper focus on historical facts and testimonials of people involved in the events. Nice presentation of the exhibits, some unique. Also in the park next to museum is a nice collection of artillery and armored vehicles and tanks, some of them quite rare, freely accessible.

We knew nothing about Slovakia before this visit. This museum gives information and context to a defining chapter in the country's WW2 history. You will leave with a much better understanding of it's history. Neat building. There is English text for most of the exhibits and all the AV material.

This museum has a nicely presented collection with labels in both Slovak and English. The park outside has a number of preserved vehicles, and inside is a few floors of displays and signs. 30 minutes to an hour should be adequate to take everything in. The collection would get 5 stars, but the narrative is curiously short on a few subjects - like Slovakia's cooperation with Germany in the Second World War, and on activities of the actual Slovak partisans.

As English speakers, we couldn’t understand a lot of the written explanations. However, there was still enough for us to learn much fascinating political history of Europe between the two world wars. The explanations seemed honest and informative. There were also many displays of uniforms, medals and weapons. The displays are well organised and laid out with plenty of room to move around. There were a number of videos showing real events playing. I found this museum very moving and informative.

This museum should not be missed if you're in the area. It has a fascinating display of artefacts from World War I and II, especially from the Slovak National Uprising when the partisans and Jews fought back against the Nazis in 1944.
